The Republicans always want to cut spending on services to the people who it hurts the most just to pay for tax cuts for people who need them the least.

That is the definition of callousness to the point of being downright criminal.

There is no way that justifies cutting off our countries citizens to much needed care AND FOOD. We do not need to raise out military budget to beat Russia, we are so far advance it is ridiculous. did you see their stupid aircraft carrier make past England? It was like WWII.

the Russian (surface) navy is a joke, but not it's army. This isn't a leftover Soviet army, like that aircraft carrier.
They are very competitive in hi tech equipment..

But we have an arms race -like it or not...which is what I have been screaming about since before Trump was elected.

Trump has been talking about increasing the defense budget since day 1 of his campaign. He was going to propose these increases no matter what. This isn't because of "Dems and Russiaphobes."

He wants (campaigned) to mitigate damage from Sequestor.
Specifically he mentioned freeing the AF from scrounging up parts from the Boneyard.
Increasing surface ships.

He also talked down the price of the F-35 by billions. that is already done (in the mix).

It was Obama that redirected money to Europe (European Reassurance Initiative) before Trump
even looked at a budget... more billions..

Can you squeeze out $80/year if you can show talks with Putin and these factors to the budget process?
Maybe not all of it, but damn close if you redirect your priorities away from more Cold War 2.0 weapons/personnel

The Budget plan Trump is proposing is the first adult in the room budget we have seen in 20 years.

Medicaid is racked with fraud, from food stamps to disability and everything in between.
the current path is not sustainable. his budget is aimed at getting people that are able to get back to work, pay into the system instead of just taking from the system.
The states are better equipped to address that. You talk to any state worker involved with benefits programs and they will tell you it is at least 90% fraud.
And I have talked to many. So we need to grow up, grow a set and fix this shit.

Agreed. The reason the GOP hates him is because he is exposing their duplicity. McCuntell and Ryan are frauds.

They will be back in the minority in 2018 and it won't be Trumps fault

Reduce corporate welfare.

Reduce unnecessary tax cuts for multimillionaires and billionaires.

Those are both defacto govt spending.

Reduce agricultural subsidies to large, corporate owned farms.

Reduce the amount of increases in defense spending.

Stop wasting resources on prosecuting marijuana growers, sellers and users.

Lots of areas you can cut without sticking it to the poor.

There is something he can do about it. Become one of the takers instead of one of the givers. One more on the take side and one less on the give side. Multiply by a few million and we see clearly the outcome.

I am all for making the tax code flatter and reducing corporate subsidies. Hell eliminate the mortgage deduction along with it. But look at something like the Ex-I'm Bank where both candidates Obama and Trump called it corporate welfare then supported it while in office.

The problem is people make the assumption that all govt spending towards the poor is compassionate and thus good even it creates perverse incentives that punish for bettering ones situation
