if someone lies as a means to exchange info, I see no point in conversing with them.

the solution is to vilify lying. leave your partisan bullshit at the door - when someone is caught lying, we all call them out. you went the other route. You are leaving the liar alone and trying to ostracize the guy that is pointing out the lies.
