Economy almost at full employment

That's actually pretty amazing. 4.4% unemployment right now. I know that doesn't reflect everyone, but it's still a remarkable # considering where we were in 2009.

Trump complains a lot about the situation he inherited, but it was nothing like what Obama inherited 8+ years ago. It was a slow recovery historically, but it WAS a recovery - quite the opposite of the dire predictions from some after the stimulus passed.

It was an historically slow recovery, not one year of 3% growth, the Fed flooded the markets with cheap cash and our participation rate continued to drop. We're not in all that great of economic shape (although the Fed does need to raise rates).

I know the market is due for a correction, but I also think the economy is in pretty decent shape as of today. It's at least in a place that we can build on, and headed in the right direction overall.

I hope that Trump can be a little bit more innovative and think ahead. The whole idea of bringing back jobs that don't really exist anymore could waste a lot of time. While the government's role is limited overall, they can guide a vision for how we can adapt and help move toward the job market of the future.

244,000 jobs created.

Thank you President Trump.

What about the labor participation rate and those falling out of the market.... Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

It takes a few months to turn the Titanic around, the Rump affect will hit the market soon.

According to you guys, those stats don't matter. You want it both ways now?

Show me where you were concerned about them in the last eight years and then you have something to say. Otherwise, STFU

Also, explain how classified information landed on the laptop of a pedophile without security clearance and why you think that is OK

Being innovative means thinking outside the box and there's nothing more 'in the box' than thinking some jobs are permanently gone or that we need to accept the new normal of calling 2% growth a 'good number'.

Probably 75% of the reason I voted for Trump was because of the economy. Well, him not being Hillary was in there too lol.

But so far I'm pleased. Much of what he's done hasn't showed up in the stats yet. Though coal miners are going back to work here. People realize the industry will probably never be what it was---but they knew it wasn't as dead as the received wisdom was saying.

And they were right.

What has he done?

I stand corrected, he has administratively done so, you are correct.

I was talking about legislation.

It is the perception and confidence that is driving this. Businesses are hiring in anticipation of tax breaks, less regulation, etc. They feel much more comfortable in doing so than the last 8 years or so.
