Done.

Fascism will not be tolerated.

When a company commits such behavior it should be boycotted for life.

They will wish they had sent another jetliner for the four employees. It will have been much cheaper for them.

United loses $1 billion in market value after man dragged off flight

Come on people lets hurt them some more?!!

This was really awful. That poor guy was completely traumatized. He paid his ticket and there is no way he should have been subjected to anything like that.

Why do they overbook flights, anyway? Are they just trying to insure against cancellations?

Exactly

the annoying thing is they did it so that their employees can get on the plane. If you screwed up your logistics you should book your employees on different flights with different companies if needed.

Quite your damn bellyaching. Act like an adult. You get bounced? So what? What makes any of you think you are special enough to not get inconvenienced once in a while in life?

He had a contract with United. They had no right to remove him from the plane. Are you fucking kidding me?

Did you know that every time you purchase airline tickets, you’re entering into a contract with the airline? More specifically, one that requires them to offer a certain set of benefits in various circumstances?
I didn’t, at least not before I worked for AirHelp.
I guess you could say it’s common sense: any time you enter into a purchase, you’re entering into a contract with the seller. But what’s interesting, in this case is that the contract of carriage points out that air travelers have rights they might not even know about.
These rights include things like: compensation an airline may owe you in the case of flight disruption, lost or damaged baggage, overbookings, and more. All you have to do is know how to read the contract of carriage to see what could be owed to you.

They offered $800 and a free flight to compensate. Right?

Why should they stop there with that amount? Leaving aside they screwed up by letting the people on the plane in the first place if United overbooks they can offer to compensate those who are willing to get off at whatever amount it takes. That's the market in action and you can bet United would have paid those people much more to avoid what they're dealing with right now.

yup. they did offer comps up to 400%. When you buy a ticket you accept the risk there is a chance you may be bumped. The guy did not get the fuck off the plane and acted like a prole.

Everyday we are put in situations where you can choose to act noble, or as a dirty prole serf. If I was asked to leave the plane, I would have gone with my dignity, nose held high, classy and worthy of my title.

This "man" instead behaved like an animal. So they sent animal control in to drag him off like the prole he is.

Now, I will say, given most of the world is animals, the airline probably should have given everyone a few extra doggy treats to pacify them. And that's where the airline went wrong. Just from a PR perspective.

I mentioned on an earlier thread I got a really good deal from Japan for getting bumped. Happened a few times over the years. Just roll with the punches.

The facists are supporting this action.

Rump will likely tweet his support for United in the morning.
