Looks like Gorsuch will be confirmed

the only major whamboozle that can happen is if the republicans pussy out for some reason and don't go nuclear.. A lot of RINOS would probably love to fuck trump over. Unlikely, but there is always a small chance of something like that happening.

You're right about pubs hating Trump, but I don't think they are going to use Gorsuch for payback. He means to much our Republic.

true. I dont think they would use gorsuch for something like that though. Everyone agrees he is a great pick. They would all lose their seats.
 
Gorsuch should be confirmed, he is going to be a net gain for liberals as he is not as Conservative as Scalia was.

The Democrats need to save their fire power in case someone like Ginsberg dies in the next two and a half years.

i would hope they force the filibuster so we can have thomas and the rest retire and be guaranteed replacements.

I don't think Thomas is planning on retiring anytime soon. He loves his position.

It would be interesting to see what happens if they do away with the filibuster, then lose the Senate next year.

Everyone does not agree he's a great pick, are you kidding? Have you even read any of his opinions?
 
No judge is ever going to get full approval in a country as ripe with partisanship as this one. But within that context Gorsuch has a high level of respect even among those whose views aren't the same.
 
I wish senators had to actually hold down the floor 24/7 during a filibuster, instead of the wimpy way in which they are done now, where other business is conducted, and there's no real display of physical endurance.
 
The left could do a lot worse than Gorsuch. At least he seems committed to upholding Roe, and doesn't seem political.

That said, I get the Dem anger about Garland. The way the GOP handled that was terrible. And we have a new precedent now on these things, which I don't think anyone really wants.
