My understanding is that there have been several, like into the dozens of more, cases of nude pics of female Marines being posted on a website they all knew about. I think there may have been nude pictures of the males, too.

My issue with it is this... instead of fixating on the sexual harassment of women angle, they should be looking at the larger issue of overall discipline and moral behavior issue in general.

Both men and women included.

I think the point is more about the fact that our United States Marines shouldn't be taking nude pictures or making sex tapes of themselves to begin with.

Being in the military is supposed to entail a certain amount of personal discipline and hopefully, a high(er) moral character.

Obviously, there have always been misfits in the armed forces since long before women were allowed in, but there was no internet back in the old days, so the things soldiers did off base could not be made as public as they can be today.

Posing for nude pics and making sex tapes makes it sound like they aren't taking their positions very seriously.

Not to mention it shows rather poor judgement on their part.

I would think that it should be specifically banned by the military, as it leads to all sorts of complications and problems.

Ok, I can accept your argument, do you also believe that United States Marines should not be sharing sex tapes of fellow Marines? Is that not just as bad?

Of course it's just as bad. The whole sordid affair is an embarrassment to the entire US Armed Forces.

My point here is not to defend or excuse the posting and sharing of these pics and videos. My point is that a) the sex video making and nude pic taking shouldn't be occurring to begin with, at least not on as large a scale as it is and b) the authorities and the media shouldn't be concentrating solely on the soldiers who publicly shared them, but ALSO on the soldiers, women and men alike, who are posing for the pics and participating in making the videos as well.

They are ignoring the source of the problem while focusing on the result of it.
