Freddie Gray case: Judge lets malicious prosecution lawsuit against Mosby to proceed

What is your solution?

prohibit police unions. prohibit any government entity from using an insurance policy to pay settlements or verdicts of excessive force by police. require all police officers to obtain their own insurance policy to cover any settlements or verdicts of excessive force. eliminate the 'qualified immunity' doctrine and REQUIRE all police officers to KNOW the laws instead of blaming it on the city. If cops commit crimes, PUNISH them, not cut them slack because of their profession. Eliminate the laws that prohibit citizens from resisting UNLAWFUL arrest or self defense from police who use excessive force.

Interesting, thanks for the reply. I don't think protection for "resisting unlawful arrest" is a good idea. Whether it's lawful or not, should be left up to the courts.

here's my issue with that policy. police have an immense amount of power, the power to actually DESTROY a persons life and claim they were 'just doing their job', KNOWING that the person they arrest actually never broke a law or committed the crime they were arrested for. I've seen this up close and personal. If these cops are never held liable, they just keep on doing this to people they find a dislike of. when does it end?

And you rightfully, bring up these issues.

The problem I have is. we already have too many people resisting arrest because they think it's their right to do so.

We do?
We also have judges saying you have no right to resist being raped by a cop.

IMO, we do.

I haven't heard about judges doing that.

Let me add, that I too, have had several personal encounters with cops "behaving badly".

Ever been falsely arrested?

I was temporarily held as a suspect in a bank robbery. I've been financially extorted. I've been beaten while handcuffed to a police car, and more.

Have you?

Cry harder racist

Racism did not kill Freddy Gray.

A life spent committing drug related crime killed Gray.

All in all, a dead drug dealer is never a bad thing. However Gray died, the black community benefited from an end to Gray's drug dealing.

No, the cops killed Freddy Gray and they got away with it.
