However, this hacking scandal is something that you and I, both sides as Americans, should be concerned about. If the Russians can alter our election process what else are they capable of doing? Many great industries rely on "cyber means" to operate. What would happen if the Russians were able to shut them down thus affecting, perhaps, our economy?

Not at all. 100% authentic emails. It's been proven. They're not hackers. They leak info sent to them. They never release leaks until it is confirmed that every leak is legitimate info. They do not subjectively attempt to prove the contents are true, just that the info itself is pristine and the source is authentic. It's up to the parties mentioned in the leaks to confirm or deny they've said or done what is in the info.
