What do you think of the SOS race?

My best friend has gotten to know Petraues pretty well so I hope he gets it. Petraues has been guess lecturing at USC recently so that alone makes him worthy. Plus Jarod would get permanent wood over his belief of hypocrisy

It would be hypocrisy.

It's fairly common, even if not well known.
It's not necessarily disloyal, unpatriotic.
I consider Petraeus a patriot.

It's a technical violation of priggish regulations.
If harm had come of it, we could wail to the rafters.

But Petraeus, a holder of a doctorate level education I believe,
knew what he did would be inconsequential.

A technical violation? ABSOLUTELY!!
But a Julian Asange, Edward Snowden scale betrayal? OF COURSE NOT.

A Hillary Clinton?

I don't care that he showed the top secret documents to his mistress, and I don't care that HRC stored top secret information on her server. I think what Petraus did was worse, because he actually showed it to another person.

Why don't you tell us who is. I almost forgot. Prove it, too.

Pence is clearly involved. When you get a man like Trump appointing a Creationist to educational and HUD posts, it comes from somewhere.

Not just hypocrisy but dubious trustworthiness. How on god's green earth would cons justify a Petraeus appointment after he leaked classified info to his tootsie during pillow talk?

And I'm speaking as a person who thought Petraeus was a good guy, and I complained to MoveOn when they called him "General Betray Us."

"General Betray Us", how prescient.

You supported Hillary despite all the illegal things she did. How hypocritical, but typical, of you.

If it's that clear, Counselor, prove it. Saying it doesn't make it so. I'll wait.

Russia faced sanctions after the illegal annexation of Crimea, and thus ExxonMobil had to cease operations in 2014. But the head of the oil giant's Russian operations, Glenn Waller, said the company would return to the project once the sanctions were lifted. Mr Tillerson could certainly expedite the lift of those sanctions as the US's top diplomat.

"If you are trying to lift sanctions on Russia and get back to business with Vladimir Putin, Rex Tillerson would be an excellent choice," former US ambassador to Russia for the Obama administration, Michael McFaul, told BuzzFeed News.

More Russian connections...

"Naming the head of Exxon as the country’s top diplomat will undoubtedly be met with much controversy at least in part because of the executive's long ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin that date back almost two decades. During his time as head of the largest oil company in the United States, Tillerson has worked to strengthen relations with Russia, turning the country into “Exxon’s single biggest exploration theater,” reports Bloomberg. In 2011, he negotiated an energy partnership with Russia that could eventually be worth as much as $500 billion, according to Putin.

Further confirmation of Tillerson's close relationship with Putin came in 2012, when Moscow awarded him the country’s Order of Friendship decoration."

Yes. Russia needed Exxon for Arctic drilling -they did not have the expertise by the Russian company (Gasprom?) as their other oil fields are maturing.
I think I heard something about them drilling anyhow - but Exxon ( west) expertise would be good for the planet

Should a SOS have no foreign connections? Just trying to understand what qualifies someone not to be corrupt or a crony.
