Donald Trump Names WWE's Linda McMahon To Head Small Business Administration :0)

I rather suspected that you would just duck and dive rather than answer the question. Of course what you mean by intelligent is like-minded people who possess the same ability to groupthink as your good self.

Dude .. we've already had this conversation when discussing Cuba.

I CLEARLY demonstrated the exponential quality of life benefits to the Cuban people through socialism.

From massive illiteracy under US and Batista rule to Cubans now have a higher literacy rate than Americans.

From high rates of infant mortality under the US and Batista .. to Cubans now have a lower rate of infant mortality than America.

From little to no access to health care under the US and Batista .. to now Cubans have free health care cradle to grave and the highest percentage of doctors in the world, and a higher life expectancy than Americans.

I could go on .. but what would be the point? You never acknowledged these and other UNDENIABLE facts. You prefer to ignore them.

I don't suggest that you aren't intelligent, but you aren't going to debate this issue intelligently .. so what's the point?

Take this with you ..

.. and Gaddafi was fighting AGAINST Al Queda .. the US was fighting WITH AND FOR Al Queda
funneling weapons to militias, hiring same militias for security in Bengazi..funneling weapons to Syria..
it was a colossal screw up that wound up creating a terrorist state there.

I don't doubt that when you have a third world type banana republic run by a megalomaniac then socialism can help provide people with better health and education. However it is totally incapable of working in a first world economy. I know about Communism having been to many countries including eastern Europe in the early 90s and Vietnam this year. The question that I ask myself is why haven't any of those countries chosen to embrace socialism?

:0) Oh really?

SOCIALISM exists in every capitalist nation .. including yours ..

.. and it exists in a MAJOR way.

Social Security
Medicare
Medicaid
Military / Defense
Fire Departments
Police Departments
Public Libraries
Postal Service
Roads and highways
Student loans and grants
Farm Subsidies
Museums
Public schools
EPA
VA
FDA
CIA
FEMA
OSHA
USDA
Public Parks
Public Hospitals
Sewer System
Court System
Vaccines
Unemployment Insurance
The Government

.. on and on .. ALL publicly funded for the benefit of the whole, ie; SOCIALISM

Truth is brother, you love socialism and you use it everyday of your life. It may even save your life.

There are millions of seniors in America who could not afford to stay alive without the socialism of Social Security and Medicare. Socialism has always been in this country, and it always will be.

Socialism requires no champion. Intelligent life comes to it.

Maybe you'd like to rethink this ..

"I don't doubt that when you have a third world type banana republic run by a megalomaniac then socialism can help provide people with better health and education."

By your own definition, we must be a "third world type banana republic" :0)

Yes well that's called social democracy, but I suspect that you believe in the full blooded variety where the state owns all the assets and means of production.

"Socialism and communism are alike in that both are systems of production for use based on public ownership of the means of production and centralized planning. Socialism grows directly out of capitalism; it is the first form of the new society. Communism is a further development or "higher stage" of*socialism."

:0) First, you've never asked me a single question about what form of socialism I believe in .. so you assumed whatever you thought best suited your attempt to escape from the forms of socialism that you enjoy everyday.

Wrong again my brother. :0)

I believe in democratic socialism. I believe in the concepts of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) .. but they have no political party, thus I often vote as a Green .. which also doesn't really have a political party. Hope that clears it up.

Socialism and communism are not the same forms. Socialism also has commonalities with capitalism, but doesn't make it capitalism.

I was doing you a favor by not getting in to this. But you insisted. :0)

Communism has also proven itself to be more adept at murdering the populace than has socialism.

So you believe in wholesale state ownership and nationalisation, I presume.

No, I do not.

I believe in mixed everything.

Mixed economies, mixed ideologies, mixed ownership, mixed people.

I don't believe that I agree with any organization in total.

Except for those violent and bloody revolutions that Marx and his followers reveled in happening. For whatever reason, once the bourgeoisie have been slaughtered in their beds, the guillotine never goes quiet.

I agree.

Socialism, like capitalism, often takes many forms.

Well then you must love us over here as that's what we have. Healthcare is provided by the state first and foremost. Private healthcare is provided by many employers as well these days, at least in the professions anyway. Both my sons are computer programmers and get healthcare as a perk.

Socialism, like capitalism, often takes many forms.

The difference is capitalism involves earning it yourself and if you don't, you do without. Socialism involves one group not doing for themselves then demanding others be forced to do it for them.
