The world has never been safer....

It's extraordinarily offensive to me to hear Iraq War cheerleaders, who gleefully went along w/ Cheney's assessment of "6 months," talk about how we basically needed to keep a permanent fighting force in Iraq (not permanent presence, mind you - permanent fighting force), to "maintain stability" for the mess they enthusiastically created.

And then call everyone who warned them that war would be a Pandora's Box & create instability - basically exactly what happened - a "partisan hack."

For that matter, it's offensive for me to hear anyone who supported the invasion of Iraq lecture anyone - anyone at all - about foreign policy.

one can have been opposed to the Iraq invasion, and still see there was merit in keeping that army up to par..
Now it's descended into a sectarian puppet state ruled by Shi'a militias and Iranian regulars

Your offense amuses me lol.

Facts are facts and you're not entitled to your own.

Here are the facts:
- Invading Iraq was a huge mistake
- I and many warned in 2003 that it would be a huge mistake
- It created a power vacuum which basically necessitated an American fighting presence for decades
- I correctly predicted in 2003 that Iraq would be a mess, but that GOP hacks would blame it on whatever Dem President eventually took office

mostly agree. I do not know ir we could have stayed in Iraq -for sure we didn't try, and that caused a decent professional army to cave under Maliki's sectarian purging
It can be argued either way.
The rest of this I do agree with..and don't forget Libya (Clinton/Obama)

US Airstrikes in Libya still don't dislodge ISIS

Libya is another can of worms.

I get the point about staying in Iraq in perpetuity. But if we had stayed long enough to prevent ISIS it would have been a win. The problem is, Iraq has become just one piece of a very jacked up puzzle.

And someone will inherit it.

Yes. or if we had hit ISIS when they crossed the border.
As it stands now we got about 3500 US advisors there in combat..against ISIS

Do you think Obama hasn't done much against ISIS?

of course he has.....he told them they were on the run.......he told them they were the JV team.......he told them he would hunt them down.......he even let a few members of his administration toy with the idea of calling them Muslim terrorists to see if that would make a difference......he's done everything he could possibly think of........

You think calling them the JV team made the problem worse?

How many ISIS have been killed under Obama's admin? What has their territory been reduced to?

Bet ya don't know.

You don't think creating a power vacuum in the Middle East is Bush's fault?
I remember Obama saying in 2011 how wonderful things were in Iraq.......no mention at all of a vacuum.......of course when the leader in Egypt gets taken out.....and the leaders in Libya and Yemen get taken out......and then there is Syria......sure, Bush caused all those things to happen in Obama's administration.......his state department wasn't involved at all........

isn't it amazing how blind partisanship can make someone who's had thirteen years to look for evidence of these "Iraq War cheerleaders" and still can't do it, yet can tell instinctively that none of it could be Obama's fault.....

Oh, there weren't "Iraq War cheerleaders?" Really?

Man, you guys love your history rewrites. Give me a friggin' break.

yet we should be happy with an administration that spread it to another dozen countries through his own failures?

actually the facts are that your opinions have always been wrong and will continue to be wrong.....

Oh, really? I was "wrong" about the Iraq War being a huge mistake?

And now you're voting for the candidate who agrees w/ me 100% on that?

Amazing. You don't even have any idea how stupid that sounds.

no....I think that doing nothing EXCEPT calling them the JV team made the problem worse....
how many dead?......who knows......were the estimates that have been quoted generated by the same idiots who claimed we killed a million civilians in Iraq?....
what has there territory been reduced to?......well lets see.....in 2008 they had no territory.......do they have territory today?......do we include Nice and San Bernadino?......
