Trump's campaign disarray is a pretty clear warning

I mean, what else do we need? This is a guy who is completely unprepared to be President.

And we know this because he was completely unprepared for a Presidential campaign. It's not like the amounts of money needed were some big mystery before he announced. He has no idea what to do when it comes to campaign organization, the ground game & financing.

And instead of figuring out how to work with the GOP, he keeps talking about how he doesn't really need them & will go it alone if he has to. So, are we to assume he won't do the same thing with our allies, with legislators & others that he'll need to work with as President?

This is a mess. It doesn't do any of us much harm to watch him flounder & flail as he tries to figure out something as uncomplicated as a campaign. Do we really want to watch the lost boy routine when he hits the bigtime and his cluelessness has actual consequences?

that's a big stretch. He doesn't have the establishment backing, or a decent campaign manager or much of anything.
But campaigns are private.

Being POTUS is a whole different thing, where you are surrounded by the institutional accoutrements of the presidency.
The job is pre-organized for you.

I don't think it's a stretch at all. He talked for weeks at the beginning of the campaign about how really rich he was & wouldn't need any money. Then the campaign is panicky about getting $100K?

It shows a complete lack of planning & anticipation, about something ridiculously simple. What are we really to make of his other promises, which all sound hopelessly naive anyway? Getting Mexico to pay for a wall, getting 'such a good deal' out of China, destroying ISIS in one fell swoop.

What has happened w/ his campaign shows that he doesn't give things much forethought. He is prone to wild pronouncements that have no substance, and that end up being wrong.

but he's doing it out of his back pocket ( on the fly).

You get in there and all that is set up for you. POTUS grow into the job, because of all that institutional support.
They learn to use the levers of power. It's almost "governing for dummies" if you get my reference

WH NSC, NSA, DNI, CIA. on national security.
You gotta Cabinet who execute, but still advise. You can meet with anyone anytime either in or out of government.

The job is set up so you can be hands on or hands off, and still have plenty of support.

Would he just trash that with a temper tantrum? I mean the guy is a businessman -he can delegate.
His problem now is he is NOT delegating -taking advice. But it'snot institutional resources for him either

He's ego tripping, but once in, the ego tripping is replaced by the demands of the job.

I've never heard anyone describe the job of POTUS the way that you do.

Please, share your understanding of the demands of the office.

Thanks!

Those are dangerous assumptions.

what do you not comprehend?
It's an executive position with total support on any aspects of any part of governing..anytime anywhere

Assuming some intellect and natural curiosity ( not a drooling moron) the Office is set up for plug-in and play

Thanks!

not "effortless" you get pressure, and a whole slew of stuff coming at you -
but you're not floundering by being overwhelmed with complexity you can't deal with..
that's why the Office has so much institutional support..

I saw it on TV

Pretty much any man could do it. I don't know why we're not just running a couple of penis socks. Like you could have one with a smiley face on it, and that would be the can't we all just get along Penis President. And then one with a scowl, and that would be the "tough on terrorism" Penis President.

And then after the election a whole team of expert penises could take over, and their expressions would have more of a range, and the Penis that won would just basically sit around, doing penis things (which I really don't want to get into)

Even Hillary could do it...her judgement is gawd awful, but she would be constrained by those who aren't naturally bellicose..

Trump could do it -his temperament is a flighty volcano, but he would be constrained by sober minds

I agree. I don't think he expected to be the presumptive nominee.

With my glorious tin foil hat on, I think he is running this to help Hillary win.

:foil:

I don't know why I thought of that cartoon with the talking cucumber.
