Anti-Trump protesters at Trump rally throw rocks, bottles at Albuquerque police

What began as an assembly of about 1,000 peaceful protesters outside a Donald Trump rally at the Albuquerque Convention Center morphed into madness Tuesday evening when mostly young, raucous rioters joined the ranks, hurling burning T-shirts, rocks and bottles toward the police and police horses trying to contain them.

Several Albuquerque police officers were injured by the projectile rocks, and at least one rioter had been arrested by the end of the night, the department tweeted. Protesters finally dispersed from the city’s downtown streets late Tuesday night, hours after the rally ended, when police in riot gear unloaded pepper spray on the dwindling crowd.

Metal barriers kept the peaceful protesters at bay earlier in the evening as they chanted and held signs in opposition to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s immigration rhetoric, a stance that has isolated Trump from some prominent Latino Republicans in New Mexico, the state with the highest percentage of Hispanics as a portion of population.

But as darkness fell and Trump took the stage inside, the atmosphere grew tense. Some protesters pushed through the metal barriers and rushed toward the convention center entrance. When the rally ended, police wouldn’t allow attendees to exit through the main door because of the mayhem outside.

Reports circulated that a gunshot was fired, leaving a hole in the side of the convention center. Police later said on Twitter that was untrue, and added there was possible damage from a pellet gun. A glass door at the entrance to the center appeared to be broken.

the young people hate your lie filled hate fueled party of evil

No, too many young people think something is owed to them and don't like being expected to do for themselves. No one owes you entitlement minded piss ants anything.

While I do not condone the violence, and would counsel these people that they can accomplish more by peaceful protest, this is what you get when you win with angary rhetoric and hateful self promotion.

If you win by dividing the nation, you will have no power. Trump should know that. But he would rather win than anything, he does not care about dignity or what the cost is, as long as his ego gets a win, that's all that matters.

Trump may win, but will it really be a win?

they hate you

insult them all you want

your party is in a death spiral

keep hating voters

They hate personal responsibility and having to do for themselves. Too many lazy little bastards believing someone owes them something.

young people sometimes act rashly

pretending they have no point when they act rashly doesn't change reality

In other words, you SAY you don't condone violence then justify it happening. Hypocrite.

Sounds like Obama with the dividing the nation and only caring about winning.

Acting rashly means you don't have a point.

The reality is too many young people think something is owed to them.

The second part is really rich. Obama has done more to divide the nation than anyone in recent memory.
