Texas County GOP Implodes Over Newly-Elected Chairman's Crude Tweets


The vice chair of the Republican Party in Travis County, Texas wants to remove the newly-elected chairman of the chapter from his post over comments he tweeted Tuesday about the Clintons having sex and jailing members of the Bush family.

Robert Morrow won the position with 54 percent of the vote, according to the Texas Tribune. GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak, the local party's vice chair, tweeted shortly after Morrow's win that he was "exploring" options to remove him before he takes over that position in June:

"I am exploring several options to remove Robert Morrow as Travis County GOP chairman. His election is a disaster & unacceptable"

Travis County is the fifth-largest county in Texas and includes the state's capital. Mackowiak told the Texas Tribune that he would "not rest" until Morrow was removed as chairman, calling him an "absolute embarrassment to the party."

“We have someone who ran here who absolutely has no intention of serving the Republican Party with leadership and faithfulness,” Mackowiak told the publication. “His social media account is something that no child should see. He is a total disaster.”

In response to Mackowiak's efforts to remove him, Morrow called his vice-chair "a douchebag" and told the Tribune to "Tell them they can go fuck themselves."

“My friends and neighbors and political supporters, they wanted Robert Morrow,” Morrow was quoted as saying.

Morrow had tweeted that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was a "angry bull dyke" and made several other crude sexual comments about the former secretary of state. Despite this, Morrow told the publication that he wasn't sexist.

“It’s derogatory toward Hillary Clinton because I hate Hillary Clinton. But I’m not sexist. Why would you ask that? I’m not sexist," Morrow told the Texas Tribune. “I like beautiful women, I celebrate feminine beauty. I’m like Donald Trump — I love women.”

Morrow and Roger Stone, a close ally and friend to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, co-authored a book together titled, "The Clintons' War On Women."

This guy is history, these comments aren't funny coming from someone in his position. These remarks are something Bill Mahr would say, but shouldn't be said by a Republican chairperson

Tom thinks comments like this are funny, unless they are made about a female member of his family, then for some reason he loses his sense of humor.

Darla has gone away again, so you don't have to burnish your feminista credentials anymore!! In today's febrile atmosphere I'm sure that it is not wise for a politician to say that but nonetheless it is still bloody funny. Not to you of course, you have become incredibly po-faced in your dotage.
