North Carolina potty law!

What was the issue before the law was passed? Why was the law needed, why was it important to require gay men be in the bathroom with my 9 year old boy?
I agree the law is an over-reaction -but to sit there and tell me it just came out of the blue
when clearly it was foisted on mainstream America
for no valid reason except the PC police think this is somehow an extension of civil rights is disingenuous.

Seperate sex bathrooms are the norm (except university) -are you saying gay men predating on your 9 year old is a product of that norm?
I doubt it.

Like I said before it's a solution for a non-existent problem and it's all too typical of how ludicrous 21st century's politics of "inclusiveness" has become.
It's the theater of the absurd, except it's real for PC. Keep that lunacy at the university level, thank you.

It did not come out of the blue, it came out of a legislature's attempt to play to a Conservative populace's desire to poke at those they don't like. There was no problem to fix, so why pass such a law?

Oh come on.. you have militant type PC perpetuating this idea that equality and diversity is somehow tied to gender identification bath opportunities-
and such individuals need to demand their rights/opportunities.

This isn't about dad's with daughters, or mom's with little boys, or even disabled parents getting help from their opposite sex kids.
If it were a problem beforehand -then yes the NC law and Target's million signatures would be purely reactionary.

But those exceptions have been a societal norm for ages. Nobody protests when a mother brings in a young boy into a women's bathroom.
IOW we already have/had accommodation, and no laws were needed to enforce these common sense norms.

If the PC on campus wasn't bleeding into stores/merchants ( and it is) there would be no reason for the law.

I still think it can work itself out - and I'd rather there be no law - but millions of Americans are not comfortable
with Target ( et all).
So the NC law didn't just bubble up from a vacuum - and create this stupidity either.

1) I did not say the individuals who are transsexual or gay are a step forward, I said society being kind to them and accepting of them and respecting their freedom IS!

2) How is it a step back to allow individuals more personal freedom?

3) We have always had men who think they are female and same sex attraction, you are right that part is not evolving, its simply the way things have always been.

1) Accepting something that is abnormal as normal isn't a step forward.

2) Personal freedom? That's a concept Liberals apply only when it's something they support. When it's not, they deny that freedom and say they're simply looking out for others.

3) We have had freaks that are sexually confused. It's not evolving to now give credence to their freakish way of doing things. It's a step backward.

Its part of the march for progress, the law is absurd but to fight it is not. You could say that the civil rights movement was reduced to the absuridity of quibbling over lunch counter rights for those with different shades of skin. The bathroom debate is simply a symptom of the hate and fear. The legislature took up a piece of legislation in response to an issue that was simply not a problem. There is 0 evidence that there is a problem with bathroom assaults in North Carolina or that banning transgendered people would prevent it from becoming a problem. The legislation was clearly born of prejudice and hate intended to provoke a group of Americans and make them feel separated from society. As a result, NC is suffering job loss and economic loss.

I simply do not care who is in the bathroom with me, and if I am concerned for my kids, I take them to the bathroom with me.

Think of the absurdity of the law in effect...

They are requiring a man, who is attracted to men, to use the bathroom with men, instead of using the bathroom with women, who he is not attracted to?

Well said brother!
