I don't think he'll pick Carson. I think Christi wants to be Attorney General. I can't think of anyone who would be a good choice and be willing to run with Trump.

Being from NJ, it doesn't help the ticket to have NY/NJ on it. Two of the better picks would be Gov Sandoval to help deliver Nevada, or John Kasich to help deliver Ohio. I doubt any of the Floridians want to be on his ticket. Medved recommended Gov Susana Martinez of NM (for many obvious reasons) on his show. She, at least, is not yet openly at odds with him the way Nikki Haley is (and her state is a purple state). Medved correctly predicted Palin back in 2008.

How many statement has he changed or walked back during this campaign alone? I also think you will see him shifting on positions more as he is faced with the general public.
Susana Martinez would be a great choice, but I can't see Trump picking a women, he would then be accused of playing the women card.
