Rock’s cryptic Tweets and Instagram photos leading up to the Oscars only heightened the speculation about his opening remarks. And he wasted no time addressing the elephant in the room with a searing monologue that may well rank up there with the awards’ best: “I’m here at the Academy Awards, otherwise known as the White People’s Choice Awards. If they nominated hosts, I wouldn’t even get this job. You’d all be watching Neil Patrick Harris right now!” (Watch it above.)

Rock went on to acknowledge that he had the “craziest” Oscar hosting gig and addressed the debate about whether he should have passed on the assignment. “People [said], ‘You should boycott. Chris, you should quit.’ I realized that it’s only unemployed people who tell you to quit! I thought about quitting, I thought about it really hard. But I realized they’re going to have the Oscars anyway, and the last thing I need is to lose another job to Kevin Hart.”

The jokes didn’t stop there: Rock devoted his entire monologue to the subject of diversity in Hollywood, putting it in context of the Oscars’ long history. “Why this Oscars? It’s the 88th Academy Awards, which means this whole no-black-nominees thing has happened at least 71 other times. You’ve got to figure it happened in the ’50s and the ’60s. And black people did not protest. You know why? Because we had real things to protest at the time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won Best Cinematographer.”

Chris Rock is about as funny as a Jew being invited to take a shower at Belsen. De Caprio is also a pompous prick spouting on about climate change for ages without being cut off. I fail to see why he got the Oscar just because the film was hard to make. The Big Short is far better but that cuts little ice with Hollywood.

He has a point though. There's a sort of victim hierarchy that's apparent to just about everyone except the left lol. Though they're probably aware of it subconciously. Basically, a kind of totem pole affair with blacks, Hispanics and gays being on top, followed closely by [non-Christian] women, Muslims etc. Competition within the respective groups is going to be inevitable and rears its amusing head from time to time lol.

But if you follow it through, after attaining the multicultural Utopia where whites are finally[lol!] a minority, who is going to play top dog? Won't it just be more of the same oppressors vs the oppressed where the only difference is names are changed? To whatever extent racism is endemic amongst whites it's going to be equally endemic in group X. The alternative contention is that whites are 'special' in that regard, but we can't go there because that would be racist! Lol

Does anyone on the left ever think these things through?

Which is why 90+% of them vote for Democrats.

The Democrats may be guilty of often taking their black constituency for granted, just like the GOP has taken their ignorant white redneck constituency for granted and at some time will pay the price for that but right now with the GOP being dominated by right wing bigots, like you, they kinda have a pretty good idea of who does not have their best interest at heart.

Really? You think that you have blacks best interest at heart? And how exactly do you know what their best interests are? Is that from all of your life living as a black man?

I don't deny that blacks overwhelmingly vote for the democrat party. The question I always ask is what do they get for it? How have their lives measurably improved after all of these years of devotion and allegiance to the democrat party? Not much if you ask me and now the democrat party spends all of their time courting the spic vote.

What is always amusing about you is that you try to disagree with me but always end up validating what I say.

Yet blacks stick to the Democrat party like stink on shit despite being used by the party. Doesn't say a whole lot about the party or those that stick with it despite being kept on the plantation.

The fascists at Auschwitz murdered Jews, Polish political prisoners, Gypsies, Soviet prisoners of war and POWs from many other nationalities. Why would you think that there was a connection with Israel- which didn't even exist at the time ?
