Trump on Planned Parenthood

The fact is, and has always been that Planned Parenthood does a lot more than Abortions and regardless of your position on that issue, they help women in many ways with a multitude of health issues.

It was refreshing to see a Republican touch the third rail by admitting that last night....

"As far as Planned Parenthood is concerned, I'm pro-life, I'm totally against abortion having to do with Planned Parenthood, But millions and millions of women, cervical cancer, breast cancer, are helped by Planned Parenthood. So you can say whatever you want, but they have millions of women going through Planned Parenthood that are helped greatly."

Finally someone, shockingly from Trump, acknowledges this basic fact.

Trump is an enigma for me. ON one hand he cuts throught a lot of the Republican party line bullshit, which I really like. Calling GWB out on the WMD, and his stance on Planned Parenthood.

On the other hand he says stupid shit that illustrate a serious lack of understanding of our Constitution and the way America works. Like building a mosque in NYC or not letting muslims into the country.

I really cant forgive how he mocked the disabled reporter. My good friend, with a disabled son, a Republican, is on a crusade against him for that.

Right? A Democratic Socialist... so? What does that have to do with this thread?

You are too ashamed to tell us who you support.

You post dozens of threads on Trump hinting that you could even vote for him. You're a liberal, you're not voting for any Republican.

I would vote for a Republican if he/she was a liberal. I am not voting for Trump, for a variety of reasons, but I don't have a visceral negative reaction to him like I used to. He has grown on me. He is not a one dimensional party line guy, like Rubio, Bush or Cruz. Trump is truly independent, the first serious contender we have had in my lifetime.

Had Trump not been so crass at the start, and had he not illustrated such a lack of understanding of the Constitution with regards to religious freedom, were he not such an egomaniac, I would have really liked him, regardless of the designation after his name.

I am very happy the Republicans look like they will be nominating him.

Trump is getting more populist as he crushes conservatards

I guess, he has really backed off the hostility toward immigrants and is making serious overtures toward women (planned parenthood).

Maybe that is populist these days... but he is backing off the nationalism.

I am starting to see an argument that could be made as to how Trump might landslide this election.

I can also see how HRC will smash him, its going to be very fun to watch.

I what is the difference between a "democratic socialist" and your garden variety socialist?

Are you a "democratic socialist"?

If so why have you found a home in the democrat party?

I have previously explained to you the difference... I am sorry you could not grasp it.

In short a Democratic Socialist is one who is elected and supported by the people in a democracy. Not to be confused with, for example the Christian Socialist Party of Germany.

Political systems such as Capitalism, and Socialism do not exist in pure forms, there is no pure Capitalists or pure Socialist Nation. The United States fits along a continununum of these philosophies. Our Republican party has tended to push for more Capitalist policies while the Democratic Party has pushed toward more socialist policies. Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, and the like are socialist programs that are very popular in the United States. I personally think our nation would be better with more programs that prevented the wealth to accumulate with wealthy families who did not personally earn the money. Capitalism is a great system when properly regulated with socialism. Without being moderated, the wealthy in a Capitalist system end up enslaving the poor regardless of how hard working or deserving the poor are. I believe our system is in desperate need of limits upon the wealthy elite who did not get there themselves, but continue to fatten their nests via financial leverage instead of hard work.

The mushy middle is not interested in wedge issues but they are very interested in their children and the life they will have.
The establishment is making the future bleak with debt and blatant disregard of immigration law.
Messing with people's kids is a guaranteed call to arms. And there is no more road to kick the can down.
It's the economy.
Anything else will keep.

I don't believe the problem with our economy is that we have too much taxation or too much regulation, while those things might hurt, they are nothing compared to the stagnation of wealth at the top that prevents the circulation of money and the major rewards that a Capitalist system should award to those willing to work hard.

So what you are saying is that as long as we elect them confiscating your property isn't a problem?

I'm sure you so believe that but the stagnation has a cause. And has been shown time and again, taxes and regulation are that cause.
If JFK hadn't gotten whacked he would concur. Imagine that the GOP stole his recipe for economic growth.

I agree that taxes and regulation have some effect, but do you realize that income taxes are among the lowest they have been in the modern era?

Oh, I think Jarod is actually tempted to vote for Trump lol. You'll see more and more democrats look Trumps way if he survives. Trump keeps throwing these tidbits to the left because he has an eye on the general election. The conventional maneuver is to pivot to the left/right after securing the nomination. But there's nothing conventional about Trump and he's brash enough to start with it before Super Tuesday.

I'm done trying to make predictions about Trump because I've been wrong all along. From what I read and see, not saying I'm right but just my observation, I don't see a large number of Democrats crossing over. Maybe some blue collar white guys but I see a lot of hate from minorities and liberal college educated whites toward Trump.

Edit: I guess that was technically a prediction right after saying I wouldn't do so. I'll play semantics and say that's what I observe however I'm not putting my statement in ink.

SO..... what Republicans have railed against PP for other reasons than providing body parts from abortions for a price or abortion in general........
