Why young Democrats love Sanders and really don’t like Clinton

Why can't republicans just say they're going to do what's good for the country, and in effect, everyone?

Because what they've done is speak out negatively against blacks and Hispanics. How often do Republicans go address black and Hispanic crowds? If you don't make an effort to get someone's vote how do you expect to get it?

This guy writes a column twice a week for the SF Chronicle's website. He's about as liberal as liberal gets. I generally don't have a problem reading some liberal writers but this guy drives me f'ing nuts. Yet I still read him (shaking my head at myself). If you remember the old poster Ornotbitwise (miss that dude) he called Mark Morford (the author) a special dessert treat to read.

Now generally he just rips on God, religious right wingers, the GOP etc. In today's column he actually writes/complains about the vitral (is that a word?) he see's from Bernie supporters for Hillary.

http://blog.sfgate.com/morford/2016/02/10/feel-the-bern-or-give-em-hill-but-please-chill-out/

This guy could be me! :D I like what he wrote here.

The word might be "vitriol."

Before I forget... we have a conservative columnist (Jack Kelly) that I usually avoid reading, but a few months ago he started a column by saying that he was just diagnosed with myeloma, was getting treatment, wanted to thank everyone who was supporting him through this time, and I felt bad for him. Bad enough that I was going to email him my wishes for recovery. Then as I continued reading, he started a rant against Obamacare, said nobody has a right to healthcare, and was praying for Obamacare to be repealed. This is a guy who has excellent insurance that pays for him to take cancer medication, and one of his pills costs $1000/each.

Now I thought anybody going through cancer would support others being able to have this level of care but people like Kelly apparently take the attitude "good for me but not for thee."

Romney spoke negatively against minorities? McCain? I don't remember it.

"But it’s been a difficult thing to witness, this blinding hate, this savage intolerance, this strange moral panic I’ve seen lately, springing up all over my social media feeds, in articles and discussion threads and even among my activist friends, much of it – though certainly not all – coming from Bernie’s most virulent supporters (note: not ‘Bernie bros,’ just bullies) and all of it aimed not at Trump, not at the GOP, but squarely at the most yawningly obvious target of all: Hillary Clinton."

This clown would be loving and praising these people if their vitriol and hate was directed at Trump or any Republican instead of Hillary,
shows hes nothing but a liberal hypocrite......

So a liberal columnist criticizing other liberals is a hypocrite? What planet are you from?

You guys are always whining that liberals don't pick on their own guys, now here's someone who did and you're still critical. Go figure.

Romney: I'm going to make it so bad for illegals that they self deport?

Yes he was talking about illegals but you don't win Hispanic votes saying that. If you want a comparison look at George W. who got large Numbers of Hispanic votes in Texas and while running for President. Look at his outreach to minorities.

The fact is Republicans have lost five of the last six national popular votes. This country isn't getting whiter. We, meaning Republicans, need to do a MUCH better job of reaching out and courting minority voters. Especially Hispanics.

You seem to imply that his coverage came due to Obamacare.

What makes you think he doesn't believe others should be able to have this level of care? I think people should have all the care they're willing to pay for. However, I don't think it's the taxpayers responsibility to be forced to subsidize it. Buy all you want but don't demand others buy it for you.

I oppose many social welfare programs. That doesn't mean I don't think people should have a place to live, food to eat, and clothes to wear. It mean I believe if you want it, YOU buy it with your money and not expect someone else to be required to do it for you.

So [conservative] Republicans basically have to cave on immigration to get the Hispanic vote. And anything else is 'racist'.

The game is rigged.

Losing one out of two primaries means she's finished? :rofl2:

Looks like Cruz is finished also, then.

She lost Iowa too

As I said last year, you democrats don't want her. Even you support Bernie over her.

Oh you will slavishly support her if she ekes through. But, even you don't want her to be President.

Smartest thing Romney said

BTW if all of the 12 million spics self deport then we don't need to worry about the spic vote

Lastly, any so called republican who thinks caving on illegal immigration is going to win them spic votes is crazy.

$1000 per pill. solve it by Medicade for all. "No we can't" = Hillary's campaign against Bernie. forget her.

they voted against their own bills when Obama said they were a good idea and he would sign it.

they hate this country and democracy

Like anything in politics or business it's how you present or market your ideas.

For example, Trump's opening speech to join the race, "Mexico is sending us their murders, rapists etc." With a certain subset of whites that comment was a grand slam. Hispanics HATE him as a result and is a large reason he gets his butt kicked in national election polls by Hillary and Bernie.

Why not, for instance, argue from a position that he believes it drives down wages for American workers? That is a position that should appeal to all voters and also doesn't turn off people you need to support you.

Dear RacerX:

Sanders is perceived as speaking the anger/frustration of youth and working class people. They're taking the bait. Of course this is illusory.

Sanders speaks not for the working class, but for that ruling class/establishment layer which sees, fears and wants to channel awakening class awareness/growing social resistance back into the Democratic Party, where it will spend itself uselessly and leave Capitalism unharmed. If elected, there would be found scores of reasons for which his populist rhetoric could never materialize into policies favoring rank-and-file working Americans. That isn't the point of the system, which exists rather to run the state in the interests of the bourgeoisie.

The class warfare never left the Democratic Party. It has persisted, without interruption, since 1828.
