Man gets life in prison after 10th DUI conviction

She is so retarded, it's almost sad.

Poor-poor Bucky.
She just has to project her sexual frustration onto those who don't agree with her.
Then add in her memory loss problems, her lack of cognitive skills, and her compulsive behavior, leads her being a very unhappy women.

But she apparently is in love with me and follows me around, begging for my attention.

You have to want to change. This was his 10th conviction which probably means he has driven drunk alot of times inbetween each of those. He may have had problems but it was by the grace of God that he wasn't responsible for killing innocent people out of all of those times he drove drunk. This is probably the best thing that could happen to him in my opinion and to other drivers. I hope he learns from this and accepts responsibility for his actions and ask for forgiveness in the eyes of God and become a better person even in prison.

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?

Whether or not the guy deserves life in prison, the state enabled him to get to this point, by letting him get behind the wheel of a car. Why wasn't his license suspended indefinitely after the third or fourth offenses?

It was very likely suspended. You do realize that vehicles still run for people who don't have licenses, right?

How does he get vehicles to drive? Alaska confiscates your vehicle on the third offense, and each subsequent offense. It's crazy.

I have bought two driveable/tagable vehicles in my life for less than $100 ... and I ain't that old. Point being that there are cheap vehicles out there and people willing to sell/buy them. There are lots of ways to get a vehicle. But you are sooooo right...it is very crazy that this could happen.

I bought a 1963 Corvair for $25; because the owner thought his son had ruined the transmission.

Only thing that was wrong, other then needing brakes, is to put the shifter back in the control arm that went back to the Transmission.
I drove that car for years.

I think people who go to AA acknowledge a higher power. That might be a place for him to start.

Is AA religious in nature? I though they were purely secular.

The 12 Steps are a recommended program of recovery from alcoholism. There is no obligation for people who attend the meetings to follow these steps – many members only seem to pay lip service to the program. The traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous make clear that the only requirement for memberships is the desire to stop drinking.[h=2]Higher Power Defined[/h] The main benefit of using the words higher power is that it cannot be easily defined. This means that members of 12 Step groups can interpret the concept as they wish. It makes it possible for a Christian to follow the steps alongside a Buddhist or even an atheist. Most people interpret higher power as meaning a god, but it does not have to be interpreted this way. It is left up to the individual to decide how they wish to define it. There are no rules except that this power has to be greater than the individual

That's pretty ambiguous by design.
A lot of drunks I have known believe they are a higher power.

No wonder you hate Ralph Nader.

The corvair was a good car. Crook and entertainer Ralph Nader made a career from slamming it.
