Well, for Non-Hispanic Whites the 2013 firearm homicide number was 2,799 in a population of 200,918,513 for a per-cap rate of 1.39.
For Blacks the 2013 firearm homicide number was 6,442 in a population of 43,696,271 for a per-cap rate of 14.74

To put it another way, if Blacks were murdered at the same rate as Whites, there would have only been 607 Blacks murdered in 2013 . . .
OTOH, if Whites were murdered at the same rate as Blacks, there would have been 29,615 Whites murdered in 2013.

So yeah, it would . . .
