Family values Republican caught on camera valuing his girlfriend


[Louisiana's] Fifth District Congressman Vance McAllister, who campaigned for office last fall as a devout Christian and devoted husband and father, was caught in video surveillance two days before Christmas passionately embracing and kissing one of his congressional aides.


The aide, identified as Melissa Anne Hixon Peacock, is married to one Heath Peacock, long-time friend of McAllister as well as a big ol' campaign donor, to the tune of $5,200. Ouch.

McAllister, thus far, has been only known as the guy who brought the Duck Dynasty guy to the State of the Union Address in January. He won his seat in a special election last fall to replace Rep. Rodney Alexander, who left the House to take a post in Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration. McAllister clearly wanted to be known for his family values.

On weekends, McAllister has Sunday breakfast with his wife, Kelly Duncan, and five children—Anna Claire Rogers, Emilie Kathryn McAllister, Duncan Michael McAllister, Vance Michael McAllister II (aka “Deuce McAllister”) and Eva Grave McAllister.

It’s a tradition he says he will continue when he comes to Congress.

“We have Sunday morning breakfast before church,” McAllister said. “I don’t do the dishes, but I do cook. I’m the griller.”

That's going to be one awkward breakfast come Sunday.

I don't moralize about being a Strong Family Man... but I have never been unfaithful to my wife.

I don't judge someone who has an open relationship.... but my sexual relationship is only between my wife and me.

I don't care if my neighbor is gay.... but I have a sexual relationship only with one member of the opposite sex.

I don't care if you are monogamous or not... but I am.


Its the ones who seem to care about what others are doing that are not following "the rules".
 
Political lesson; if you stand for nothing, are a Democrat and cheat on your wife, it is a personal matter. If you stand for moral values, are a Republican and get caught kissing someone, it is an outrage and you should be run out of town.

So we should ask ourselves this; is it better to support the politician that at least stands for something, or the one who stands for nothing and wants to be everything to everyone?
 
While I don't fully agree with TD, I see where he's coming from.

Yes, plenty of people from both parties have been caught cheating.

Yes, just about every politician says they are proponents of "family values", and are therefore hypocrites when caught.

So I say rather than finding these stories outrageous and indicative of inherent corruption in one political party or another, just laugh at them for displaying the "flaw" of being human.

It's just so funny because of his strong emphasis on family values, it's such a stereotypical thing for a politician to do, and how long he was in office before he got caught. That's it, just funny. Not an AHA, all republicans don't practice what they preach type thing.

Has everyone had time to check out the sheer unbridled stupidity of this latest piece of hate from Truth Rejector?

He would rather support a politician who says one thing to your face while doing the opposite in private...it's no WONDER he's such a partisan hack.

REALLY??? So if your a politician who stands for NOTHING and have an affair it does not look as bad as a politician who stands for something and has an affair. That is a stunning claim.

I would say that BOTH are substandard for someone who represents the people.

This is just repugnantly stupid; par for the course with you.

So let’s put this story in perspective; three Democrats in California recently were suspended for crimes from gun running to accepting bribes; but a Republican who “kissed” a staffer, that is abhorrent. Does that summarize the lack of values you lefties stand for these days?
