Judge declares PA voter ID law is invalid

Having been a Pennsylvania voter most of my life I have shown a photo ID when I registered to vote. I have again shown it another 6 or 7 times when transferring voter districts. Never have I been to a polling place that did not ask my name and address and have me sign my listing in the voter log which only allowed me to vote once. Could a small amount of people come posing as another registered voter living in the correct district to fraudulently cast a vote, sure it's possible. Would only make a difference in a very small community where everyone knows everyone and would be difficult.
Most of the people I vote with didn't like the head of the states GOP making this comment as to why the voter ID law was really needed

Mike Turzai, the state's House majority leader, made the remark Saturday at the state's Republican State Committee meeting, according to PoliticsPA.com. After listing off a series of GOP legislative accomplishments involving Second Amendment rights and abortion regulations, Turzai mentioned the new voting law, which requires voters to show a photo ID, as one of those GOP victories.

"Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done," he said, drawing applause"

I've been a PA voter all my life and never showed any kind of photo ID. The poll workers check my name off two lists and have me sign a card before voting.

Poll workers were allowed to ask for photo ID in the last two elections but we weren't required to show anything. I can't speak for everyone but the few people before and after me in line didn't show anything.

That is bull...here in Texas we can bring in a bill from the utility company with proof of address on it as proof of residency when we register to vote and then we can use the same bill to verify identity at our polling location when we arrive to vote..

Residency is not the point......check the US constitution.....

And as desh so frequently points out....the RNC was prohibited to even verify those claims of residence....so again, if you never look for fraud, you'll never find any....
thats the Demoidiots logic....

You take Turzais comments out of context; why? To be dishonest?

Are you pretending that these are not all the same? How dishonest; how stupid.

You were asked a very simple question which you refuse to answer with any honesty for obvious reasons. Shall we walk you further down this path removing any doubt what a dishonest partisan dunce you can be?

How does a picture PROVE you are who you say you are, brain-dead imbecile?

Dream on, stupid insufferable hack.

"Pennsylvania state House Republican leader Mike Turzai said this weekend that the state’s new voter ID law will “allow” Mitt Romney to win the state in November, according to a report.

“Pro-Second Amendment? The Castle Doctrine, it’s done. First pro-life legislation – abortion facility regulations – in 22 years, done. Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done,” Turzai said at Saturday’s Republican State Committee meeting, according to PoliticsPA.com.

NO shit Charlie Chan....thats the point.....

whether its allowed any longer or not is irrelevant anyway....the point is proving your citizenship to allow you to vote....and neither your
registration nor your Pa ID card requires that proof ......
so stop being obtuse.....you're getting schooled and you know it.....

Just answer the question. How does a photo prove you are not illegal?

Amazing; so anyone who is living in the state can bring a utility bill and be able to register to vote and use the same utility bill to vote?

So are people in Texas required to prove they are legally in the US in order to get electricity, water or gas? Or do they just need proof they are the resident of that house?

More irrelevant bullshit, and off topic.....

We'll never know what better election integrity would do until we do it....

And your idiot logic is that nobody ever looked for fraud. Maybe you can prove that but I doubt it.

I've been voting for over 30 years, and I can't remember giving proof. I just filled out a form and mailed it in.

They don't have to prove anything....the claim is enough......a thousand people could pass around the same utility bill....lol

Liberty, changed my name because it was used to describe my behavior and I liked it. I am a smart ass, I confess. It has been a curse most of my life and I paid dearly for it when I was in school, especially Catholic school.

So what you are saying is that just about ANYONE can vote in PA regardless of whether they are a legal citizen or resident?

I have a friend that went to one of those schools. He's an atheist now.
