I hadn't heard about this until this morning and keep seeing it come up on Twitter. Is it big enough to torpedo his hopes for 2016?

I think so, he lost huge support after he praised Obama, he has been struggling and this won't help.

They wouldn't unless it gets out that he caused it through political spite and then got caught lying about it. Then it could be an issue. I haven't read the whole story, nor do I really have the desire to, which is why I was asking in case anyone else had.

Yes, it wasn't the congested bridge, it was the reason and coverup that has people upset. I don't care, I never planned on supporting Christie.

This is a fairly old story. It is all part of the democrat party plan. They wanted Christie all along because they know he will be the easiest to defeat. He is 2016s version of McCain/Romney. Rinse Wash and Repeat. This isn't about the bridge per se and this one story will not hurt Christie from marching on to the nomination. However, this is the first salvo of what will be the attack on Christie if and when he secures the nomination. HE IS A BULLY. The left has been pushing bullying stories left and right so they are building up the American peoples consciousness to oppose bullying. And Christie will be painted as a bully.

The left can't disqualify him now and it isn't their intention to. They do want to wound him though because they do want a primary.

Yes, it sounds all Machiavellian I know, but nothing in politics happens by accident. EVER

Not even remotely. Christie was running for Governor of New Jersey. Not Pussy Hill Retirement Home. Anyone who has ever travelled farther than their own county has to be fairly aware that Jersey is famous for it's hardball politics. You know, the cement shoes, sleeps with the fishes kind of hardball.

Christie only needs to come up with a clear message that resonates with voters and then have the discipline to stay on message. These sort of shenanigans won't help him to stay on message and will be a source of distraction but if he maintains discipline and stays on message Christie will do just fine. This is a minor bump in the road.

Now obviously the talking heads are going to make hay on this for a news cycle...and then it will be forgotten about till his opponents try to use it. Then if he's disciplined and stays on message and assuming he has a good message...this won't amount to much.
 
I still suspect they will nominate him, they don't really have anyone else viable.

EXACTLY!

Any critique from opponents will be regarded as more whining from Limousine Liberals whining about sitting in traffic and immediately dismissed.
