As shown in the chart, spending for decades under Democrat control always exceeded revenue. In 1996 the trend goes to more revenue than spending as a Result of the decade of Republican control.

The only reason the chart reverts to higher spending is the result of 9-11 and the war spending for Afghanistan and Iraq. Please show me a time when any war was fought with a surplus by ANY nation. It just does not exist.

So what your chart indicates that for the very short time Republicans controlled the purse strings, spending was under control. It also shows that whenever Democrats control the purse strings, spending is out of control.

Obummer has been the biggest spendthrift President, and most inexperienced and inept, in the nation’s history based on a false Marxist ideology that Government can spend its way out of a recession with printed money. The historical evidence suggests that this is a naive and dangerous view and as illustrated by the current malaise, NEVER has worked.
