you guys prove every time your in office you have absolutely NO real compassion to offer the people
Maybe you know Annie, but that sounds harsh. It does surprise me to see Annie so harsh on this woman not getting a raise when apparently Annie can't even find a minimum wage McDonald's job so she can stay in her house...
I haven't gotten a raise in 4 years in spite of getting absolutely top marks on my reviews; granted, I'm not making minimum wage. But there are reasons I'm staying in my job despite lack of raises.
This woman could, as well, be a very good worker but due to various things her McDonald's isn't giving raises. And there might not be another place to work nearby with similar hours and whatnot. We don't know.
What we DO know is that she asked a question and was led out of the meeting and either arrested or threatened with arrest. That's what the op is about, not about this particular woman's work history.
It doesn't surprise me that you both fail to see the differences in the past 4 economic years vs the entire 10. 10 years ago, most of us weren't having problems with employment, paying our bills, or receiving fair compensation.
As for my own situation, bad economic timing combined with severe hearing loss and a nutty supervisor who was fired last year for misappropriation of funds had something to do with it. So did my own choices. Why didn't I spend more time trying to find a different employer when things were better and I was younger? There were reasons, but I should have put those aside or at least lowered the priority I gave them.
The false compassion Desh and Tekky have towards 'the poor' is so thin and condescending it would be laughable if not so sick.
What happened in 2008 that changed America from zero problems with employment and high living, so to speak?

Lots of bad choices by government and businesses and consumers combined for a perfect economic storm. I do think the beginnings were a couple years earlier though.
Nice way of saying what Bush did to our country.
