Atheist Survives Tornado, most of those killed were likely christians. LOL God!

It stands to reason in the heavily conservative, religious state of OK that most (if not all) of those killed were christians. LOL! So much for prayer!

The atheist however stands tall, spared by the vengeful and bloodthirsty god.

Checkmate christians.

And she still has a baby to eat.

god promised to noah with his fabulous sparkling rainbow that he would never destroy the world again. But I guess he changed his mind when he met john of patmos

First let me say that your thread is very distasteful, and rather disgusting, loss of life is loss of life. Secondly the rainbow is a reminder that he will never flood the entire Earth again.

Studies have demonstrated that prayer doesn't work. It never worked for me or anyone I know. If there is a god, it obviously does not give a fuck what we have to say. Why would it? It is arrogant to presume that a god ruling over the universe would listen to whiny ass bitches on a speck of dust orbiting a run-of-the-mill star in a run-of-the-mill galaxy.

Hmm, so a study by scientists who do not believe in God, shows exactly what they want it to, HUGE surprise. lolhttp://undergroundhealthreporter.com/effects-of-prayer-can-lead-to-healing#axzz2UD1eXi00
This is to show the other side of the coin

and one from a more liberal source

Yes, because all scientist are atheists and the entire aim of science is to disprove/diminish God?

The STEP study was a double blind study aided by the Templeton Foundation. I doubt you understand the significance of either, so... double blind means that neither the researcher or those being studied know who is a member of the control group and who is not. Templeton is usually criticized as being conservative and has encouraged/funded studies by proponents of intelligent design.

I don't mind the skepticism, but let's be accurate. God promised He'd never destroy the world by flood (Gen. 9:13-16). He left other options open. ;)

By flood or fire or earthquake, the world was not destroyed... just a very small part of OK.

Is's CNN's Wolf Blitzer a religious right zealot?

Full disclosure, I was on his show two years ago.

How very condescending of you, most scientists have science as their god, so yes it would benefit them to have that work that way. What I am saying is that there a findings for both cases.

No...explain it to me with the zealot spin.

instead of zealot spin I'll just give it to you without the ignorance you inserted.......saying that atheists are capable of doing good is not the same thing as saying that atheists will be capable of entering heaven without believing in a deity......

my trolling aside, I think it's incredibly rude and insulting for blitzer to be so assuming about someone. He's pretty much begging her to thank the lord. "Yes lord, thanks for tearing down my house and killing all those children, but not me."

How ridiculously stupid and condescending. How is science their God? It would benefit them to have it work what way?

There is no proof of the efficacy of prayer as anything more than a placebo. You did not offer any. You googled for whatever piece of crap link you could find and pretend that a book linked to by Oprah Winfrey (who is a nut and one of the biggest advocates of woo in the country) and written by a doctor, not a researcher, is some sort of unbiased proof and equivalent to the largest study to date, because Oprah likes Obama. It is absurd. Really, I am laughing at you.

I still think he knew the answer beforehand...I think it was the "ya gotta thank the Lord....RIGHT!?" part that makes me think "setup".
