China

The US businesses who handed over intellectual property to Chinese businesses did so willingly, they signed a contract that said so because they are shitty negotiators, then things went bottom up, and they bitched about it later and pretended it was Chinese law. But there is no Chinese law that forces businesses to hand over IP.

Yes....it went something like this...."you want our slave labor? We'll take your intellectual property" if you don't like it...we won't buy your products.

If I were Chinese, I would post something like this:

肏你们妈那个逼的国家!
钓鱼岛是中国的!
小日本滚回家找你妈妈安慰你们小鸡巴的样子!
去非礼你妹他妈的小日本!

you have yet to reply to or refute any of my posts on this subject

No, it went something like they were really shitty negotiators and should've never signed those contracts.

Well...you're right in that sense. They sold our country down the pike for short term greed. But the fact remains that China will not buy our products unless we manufacture them there... ask Caterpillar

Because you are a fool.

The absolute value of the base unit of the currency doesn't matter. The Yen is not more devalued than the Yuan simply because it's base divisible unit is smaller. In fact, most would say the Yen is severely overvalued, and it's putting strain on the Japanese economy. This is one reason that Shinzo Abe is giving the Japanese central bank leeway to print more money, to lower the value of the Yen and make them more competitive again.

How "overvalued" or "undervalued" a currency is depends on market factors. China plays games like buying US debt to make the dollar stronger to make the Yuan weaker in comparison - this is what people speak of when talking about these things. Not the absolute value of the divisible unit. The Yen could easily just declare the base unit to be some denomination that is worth a hundred yens, they would become a hundred times more "valuable" by your metric, but it would have no real effect.

Isn't this a better way then just simply printing tones of money. Your claiming that buying treasuries is far more evil then printing money. If the U.S would stop running such large defecits China would stop buying so much debt. Who cares what the market values a currency at if its value is still close to the dollar. What ever advantage China had is nothing compared to the advantage Japan has. Japan doesn't really need a weaker currency. If the market is keeping an extremely weak currency strong that a good thing. If the market is trying to strenghen a moderatly strong currency its ok to try and keep it weak. We know that a 6.15:1 ratio is small compared to a 102.23:1 ratio.

Steelplate, you are not an American. You are a traitor, and therefore I ask you: when are you going to renounce your citizenship? You hate America. America hates you too. I love America, it is my homeland, we don't want trash and garbage like you here. I repeat: renounce your citizenship! We don't want you here!

No.

Neither is particularly evil.

No they wouldn't. They'd buy all the bonds they need to to keep the value of the US dollar strong.

God you're an idiot. The base divisible unit of the currency is irrelevant, that does not define what a "strong" or "weak" currency is. All it effects is the difficulty of counting them. If you cannot understand this basic concept, I see no reason to continue this discussion with you.

Delete. I see you already found the thread in the Off Topic Forum.

You know what? Fuck you...tell me how I am a traitor....seems to me that you're the one that wants China to take over, not me.

Can a man not make Mao Zedong his avatar every now and again? Maybe throw in a few Mao Zedong quotes? And make his tag line "The Diaoyu islands are China's!" in Chinese? Does that mean he can not be a patriot? I think not. I think we have these rights. This is what makes us American!

I'm about to found the American Chinese Communist Party, to better promote harmonious relations between the US and our allies in the People's Republic of China (including Taiwan province). Would anyone like to join?

In 2010 The US exported only 92 billion in goods to china while china exported 365 billion in goods to the US. China needs us more than we need them.

There are other markets in the world besides the US. Where did people get it in their heads that the US alone props up the Chinese economy? As well, a total blockade on China would raise the price of goods for American firms, and we would have to compete against firms in Europe and elsewhere that are able to offer lower processes by leveraging China's competitive advantage. What are we supposed to do? Blockade them too?

If China remains as just an export driven economy, then we have nothing to worry about, they aren't going to grow far beyond where they are now. If they successfully transition to a consumption based economy, as they need to if they hope to continue growing, then we would be shooting ourselves in the foot to just lock ourselves out of that market. Our corporations would incorporate somewhere else where the laws aren't so crazy.
