I wanted to share this YouTube musical/visual presentation reflecting on the lasting effects of JFK's assassination almost 50 years ago. I co-wrote the song "Childhood's End" and assisted in the video production.

YouTube Search: JFK KENNEDY 50th ANNIVERSARY OF ASSASSINATION MEMORIAL TRIBUTE (Full Version)

I've been a lyricist/songwriter all my life, having the good fortune of working with a number of talented and gifted artists over the past 30+ years. The songwriting credit I'm most proud of is providing the words for "Shadowland", a song co-written with Graham Nash and Joe Vitale that appeared on Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's first reunion album, "American Dream", certified platinum in 1989.

I was hoping someone might connect with this song and visual production in some way. Unfortunately, these days many young people today aren't fully aware of the lasting effect President Kennedy's assassination has had on our country and the world over the past fifty years. As the saying goes, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". I think it's critical for our future that this moment from our nation's history is never swept under the carpet of the changing times. We owe that much to our children, our children's children and the future generations that are here long after we are gone..

Kind regards,

Rick Ryan

The left sure is obsessed with the Kennedy's which is ironic considering the Kennedy's epitomize the greed, and self absorbed entitled behavior the left claims to abhor.

Kennedy was an average President at best. His most signature accomplishments were conservative in nature. JFK would be drummed out of today's democrat party.

He advocated tax cuts for the rich. He advocated a strong military. All things which are anathema to the left of today

I was five years old and in my first year of school.

I walked home and entered my homes back door to see the TV blaring.

My Mother looked at me and told me Kenendy was shot dead.

I was pround of myself for know that was the president.

I sat down in front of the TV and watched.

My mother was a goldwater supporter.

My dad likely voted for kenendy.

My introduction to politics was that right leaning people will kill people if they dont get what they want.

yeah and we wasnt a "nigga" either huh

I was an 11 year old Irish Catholic kid growing up in Belmont, Massachusetts. Nevertheless, my parents were both supporters of Nixon. I never truly realized how deeply and profoundly Kennedy's assassination had affected me until decades later when I wrote the words to this song. I concede that JFK had many flaws, but the lyric to "Childhood's End" is a reflection on thefar-reaching impact of what happened in Dallas almost 50 years ago, not a commentary about his presidency...

That's real close to my experience. I was in the 2nd? grade and was home sick from school eating chicken soup. When it was announced on tv my mom freaked out. Shd was in the kitchen and thought they said John Fitzgerald, my oldest brotuer's name.

True story: I wrote Kennedy and was sent two nice 5x7 pics, one his official photo and the other of Jackie and the kids. Still have them and the letter he signed.

My introduction to politics was at age eight or nine when Reagan was shot and that left leaning people will kill people if they don't get what they want. Since then I always come strapped and wearing my vest when visiting with left leaning friends or people.
