Obama one of the Greats!

Don't you understand your own posts counselor ?

"0 American lives lost" was your qualifier....that was what you say is relevant....

Its hard to converse with guys like you that don't know what they're talking about....or just deny what they say.....

The number of lives lost is not the point, the point is Obama used the military without any kind of debate or consent from congress.....
Bush asked for input from congress, and a resolution was PASSED with Democrat support and hes the guy you pinheads bitch about....

No, you are choosing to belive my words mean something vastly different than they do. You are applying Republican Math to my words and extracting a meaning that was not presented.

Comparing Iraq to Libya is like comparing Vietnam to Grenada.

What is the scoop w/ some of the posters here? The comparisons and rationalizations are insane.

They live in a reality of there own mind desperatly trying to justify a pre-determined world view that is inaccurate. If they have to argue an apple is an orange, they will do so.

Hey look, all that help in Egypt and people are back in the streets protesting the guy Obama propped up! For taking all that power, which is why the people protested in the first place.

Bush even classified himself as "the decider."

The day of the resolution, so many congressmen & women talked about "only if absolutely necessary," and talked about things like selective airstrikes even if it came to that.

Somehow, to Bush apologists, this becomes "they voted to invade!"

Bush was 'the decider'....now Obama is....whats your point ?

The Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution (formally theAuthorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002

The OK, permission, consent, endorsement, support, blessing, etc. etc. etc. to use Military Force......now wtf could that mean ?......

Harsh words from a PFC....?
A Judo chop to the rids from a Sgt. ?
A missile strike ?
Maybe a flyover dropping confetti....?

Just what the fuck IS military force ?.....could it be soldiers with guns.....

Just how thick is that empty skull of yours....?

Democrats knew EXACTLY what they were voting for....you can't think your own side is that stupid can you.....

How do you tell when a Bush apologist is desperate and flailing? When they resort to hyperbole like "a judo chop".

No, bravo - military force does not = full scale ground invasion. What a fool. If you read comments from most of the Senators & Congressman who voted that day, they spoke of selected airstrikes, and only if absolutely necessary.

To characterize that as a "resolution to invade" goes well beyond hackery. What a sad rationalization. Just admit that Bush blew it; it will be very liberating for you.

Lybia and Iraq are two VERY different events. When Ronald Reagan bombed Lybia, did he get any consent?

Just as the WPA stipulates....Reagan retaliated in direct response to a terrorist attack against American Troops by Lybian agents....and an attack 12 days before on the US NAVY fleet in the Med.

Obama DID NOT respond to an attack or even a threat against the US or our troops...

On March 24, 1986, Libya launched six SA-5 missiles against the U.S. Sixth Fleet, which was conducting maneuvers nearby in the Mediterranean. The attacks failed, and in subsequent strikes and counterstrikes, the Americans sunk two Libyan vessels.

On April 5, 1986, a bomb exploded in Berlin's La Belle discotheque, killing a U.S. soldier and a Turkish civilian, and injuring some 200 others, including 63 U.S. soldiers.

Ten days later, late in the evening of April 15, the United States prepared for air strikes against Libyan ground targets in five areas: the Aziziya barracks, known as a command and control post for terrorist activities; the military facilities at the Tripoli international airport; the Side Bilal base, said to be a facility for training terrorists in underwater sabotage; the Jamahariya military barracks in Benghazi, another terrorist command post; and the Benina air base southeast of Benghazi.

You might prefer to ignore what happened 12 days before the discotheque bombing, I don't...
1...Libya attacked the Navy Fleet in the Med....
2...Libya bombed the discotheque
3...Reagan approved air strikes in Libya....

These are the historical facts...
Now explain to us how Obama actions and Reagans are the same....they're hardly similar.

And who decided it would be a full-scale invasion?

Like I said - stop protecting Bush. He's relaxing in TX and I'd bet that it doesn't even cross his mind anymore.

Who do you think, fool....?

Democrats knew EXACTLY what the resolution stated knew EXACTLY what they were voting on....the plan to oust Saddam by force was no secret.
Do you actually think that they are that stupid ?....You vote for them ?....

It wasn't a "vote to invade." Period.

Thanks for your admission on that.

?

Are you saying the vote to invade Iraq wasn't actually a vote to invade Iraq?

I think one of my favorite things about this whole history rewriting tactic is the fact that, right after Saddam's statue fell, the narrative was that Democrats were on the "wrong side of history" for opposing the invasion, and that Bush was a bold, visionary leader for making it happen.

Now, that is is regarded as one of the worst foreign policy decisions in history, there just isn't enough credit to go 'round. Why, Democrats practically spearheaded the effort to invade, and even had a resolution for it.

We know the resolution was passed by Dems and Repubs alike, that's not the point. The point is bush knew the intel was incomplete at best and phony at worst, but he still pushed his plan that the country was on the verge of being attacked. And please don't start with the repub meme that Congress had the very same intel as bush because subsequent memos and records show that was a big fat lie.

It wasnt' a vote to use dirty words on them
It wasn't a vote to use missiles on them
It wasn't a vote to drop feces on them
It wasn't a vote to bomb them

It WAS A VOTE TO USE MILITARY FORCE ON THEM......so what was allowed and not allowed ?

The truth is that Democrats voted to invade. Another fact is Dems were talking about WMDs before Bush was President.

Bush KNEW what the NIE and intelligence told him....thats what he KNEW....read it.

Memos...?....what memo did Bush have ?.....Was the so called Downing St. memo send to Bush ? some limeys opinion....not intell. revealed after the fact.
Bush had some....SOME intell. from allies, Germany, the UK, etc...SOME.
Ousting Saddam was a US goal from the days of Clinton....want to here what Democrats were ranting about for about 6 years prior to 2003 ?
I can post them for the hundredth time to refresh your memory.

Your spin is fantastic. It was a vote to authorize the President to use military force if necessary, and they were very clear about their expectations for what kind of force that would be. Dick Armey - no great liberal he - said he felt betrayed by the WH because of the assurances he was given that not only would they exhaust every other option first, but that they would be tactical in their use of the miliary if it was necessary
Speaking of "exhaust" - don't you get tired spinning like this? What do you owe Bush, anyway?
