Official VP Debate Thread

I'd say that was pretty even with a slight edge to Ryan. However, Biden needed a knockout and just looked like he was desperate to get everything they stuffed into his head out all at once. The constant interruptions looked unprofessional and actually made him seem weaker rather than "aggressive".

However, a democrat may see it as better than Obama and become slightly more encouraged so you have to give him some points.

The moderator did better later helping Biden quiet down and look a little better, but too little too late. Ryan's closing made it lean more to his side. Way better than Biden's, at least according to those watching (the little line below the screen)...

That's my summation, basically. Slight Ryan win when all he really needed to do is keep it even.
Why did Biden need a knockout?

Oh, poor boys, don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot! Waaaaa!

Ryan got schooled. Biden takes the debate.

OMG did he ever. The connies here are really reaching to give it to Ryan. Ryan had no substance to his comments. And I hoped to never hear again the words "we're emboldening the enemy" but there was Ryan trading on fear, as usual. He didn't have a grip on anything but his talking points and he never deviated from them.

Now I think Biden overdid the facial expressions, the sighs and the interruptions. But on pure substance he walked all over Ryan. Ryan looked like a somewhat more intelligent version of Palin, but he had neophyte stamped all over him. He was out of his league.

What the hell do you care, you're gonna vote for Johnson.....lmao

I am voting for Johnson, but I still watched the debate and Ryan was nervous and Joe was just Joe. Ryan also took a very unpopular position on Afghanistan. People like the idea of the Afghans taking over, like myself and it could hurt them with undecided voters.

look, don't pretend you are above the fray cause you are voting for johnson. I am voting johnson but I still will be gleeful if obama loses. Probably the same way you will feel if Romney loses

rana my guess is you didn't actually watch the first presidential debate if you think romney and biden acted similarly.

Your opinion. Romney was agressive in the first debate, Biden was aggressive in this one. Different styles, same behavior.

True, I am not a Republican.

so you watched the first debate or you didn't? I was speaking as to aggression. I was speaking to actual interruptions Romney almost never interupted obama in the first debate, and obama had 4 more minutes of talking time. Biden was talking all over ryan. not just for a second or two but sometimes minutes.

Romney was aggressive but I don't think you can compare to Bidens behavior. He actually could have cleaned Ryan's clock, but he turned people off with his gestures. At one point he was yelling at Raddatz.

On substance particularly foreign policy Biden came it on top but lost on style points.

In the end VP debates matter little. Nobody is voting for VP. Just something to talk about

Romney was civil, Biden was a bully....

I think the moderator was just frightened by the thought of a fanatical leftist lynchmob coming after her with pitchforks, candles, rope, and cutting tools...

:village:

I think Martha Raddatz has more foreign policy experience than Ryan and she recognized that he was shoveling sh*t.
