Mitt Romney’s Fair Share

His fair share would be a percentage, not a number. I pay way more than 13%, and I'll bet it's the same for millions.

you either allow tax-exempt investments, or you don't. You idiots don't get to complain about legal investment vehicles that the governemnt allows. STFU about it already. We know you don't like rich people getting a break. The fact is, when Romney and others like him (Buffet, Soros, Gates...) make those investments, the governemnt is often the seller and WE (America) get the funds to use for our government instead of letting those evil bastards invest in some private sector venture.

Do you not like your government selling investments?

I can think whatever I want to, based on what you've shown about yourself.

true....you are free to be as big an asshole as you wish.......and I am free to act accordingly.....every day I get to hold up a big sign that points to you and says...."this stupid slut called me a pedophile"......and that's what you have to look forward to.....forever....

You should've been more careful, don't you think? Seems kinda stupid for you to continue to draw attention to yourself, because the damage is already done, retard. You did it to yourself, with what you showed about yourself here. But hey - if that's your idea of fun - or of 'full contact debate', well by all means bring it! :D

You do comprehend what tax is, and that it isn't imposed on WEALTH, right?

The $264 million he has, was at some point, earned and taxed accordingly.

For everybody who pointed this out--- you are right, I am wrong. I shouldn't have used the example of his total assets. So I'll rephrase.

What is Mitt's actual taxable income and is $3 million enough, not enough, or too much to pay on that income?

Explain again why the wealthy should be given special tax breaks. Because if the theory is that they'll plow the money into creating jobs, we already know that didn't work. What I don't like is rich people getting MORE of a break than the middle class.
Mitt's claim is that his $5 trillion tax cut wouldn't add anything to the deficit but nonpartisan experts say that's BS. "Romney’s tax plan would either explode the deficit or increase middle class taxes. In fact, the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center (TPC) estimated that Romney’s plan would raise taxes on a typical middle-class family with children by $2,000, all while giving massive tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires."

Maybe you're a millionaire, I don't know. But if you're one of the 99%, Mitt's plan is not geared to protect your interests.

Bloomberg's analysis here.

Wow. I am actually impressed you admitted you were wrong. Rare to see these days!

I would say, $3 million in taxes is a pretty substantial liability. I don't know how much he made, but he paid a lot in taxes. $3 million is more money than most of us will see in a lifetime. As far as we know, Romney followed the tax laws and paid what the tax code said he should pay, just like every American. He didn't cheat and not pay his tax, like so many in the Obama administration. There wasn't a special tax code he used that we don't get to use. AND... in addition to his taxation, he also has contributed 16% of his entire wealth to charity.

I think it's a losing proposition to go after Romney for being wealthy, especially when the First Lady is spending $8,000 on dresses to be worn once, and jaunting off to Europe for vacations every few weeks.

It most certainly does not!

Does it poll Americans to see if it's in their hearts to give aid?
Does the recipient of the aid require it be given from our heart?
Should it not be given if it's not from our heart?

Again, you can't possibly speak for what is in Mitt Romney's heart. You have absolutely no way of knowing that. Perhaps he has it in his heart to give because he is a Mormon? Perhaps we should all strive to be more like Mormons?

Perhaps he tithes since it is the law of his church and it has nothing to do with his "heart".
