they are full of hate for obama, with little love for mittens and with the usual gop lies

not a good day for mittens or the gop with all of this being broadcast on tv and recorded for later

Full of hate for Obama? I only saw Ann Romney's and Christie's speech and they barely mentioned him. Where is the hate? Is he off limits to discuss? Is he never to be mentioned? Come on now DQ, this isn't your first rodeo, you aren't new to politics.

i watched more of the speeches than you did

mitten's made a good performance, too bad she is not a candidate

christie's was more for his potential future than for mittens

if you had listened to the rest of the speeches you would have heard the repeated hate and bashing of obama

also, there was nothing about how the gop would fix things, just about how bad things are and how it was all about how it is obama's fault with not one word about gwb or his two useless wars and worthless tax cuts

you should have listened to more

Do you really think the GOP national convention is going to focus on Bush? Seriously man, you are not new to politics. And do you think the Democrats at their convention are going to be all nice and loving to Romney and the Republicans?

How is talking about your opponent hate? I swear us partisans react like a family member is being attacked when a politician we like is talked about.

the speakers have not been spreading hate for the dems, but for obama personally and 'trashing' his policies which congress will not pass due to repug obstructionism

have you listened to more of their speeches yet?

i fully expect the dems at their convention to trash mittens on his record, policies and lies and the gop on its lies, record and policies

also, the gop speakers have been trashing/spreading hate regarding minorities using 'code' phrases...especially talking about welfare cheaters and parasites which has always been gop code for blacks, illegals and other minorities

Don, the difference between the two parties is that one is in the White House. Of course the GOP trashes Obama. He is held responsible for everything his administration has done or not done.

The same was done with Bush. In fact, you posted "not one word about gwb or his two useless wars and worthless tax cuts". Which proves my point.

bushco deserves a whole lot more trashing than obama ever will

his policies led us in to the worse economic mess this nation has been in since the great depression and the repug wants to continue those policies

this does not mean that the dems are saints, far from it

all elected officials need to raise campaign cash which makes them beholden to major contributors

however, the citizens united decision has favored the repugs far more than the dems

now a small number of people (mostly billionaires) are trying buy more and more of our elected officials and eventually our government leading us even further towards an oligarchy

ps are you claiming bushco did not start two worthless wars, sponsored a tax cut that favored the wealthy far more than anyone else, set the stage for an increase in the national debt beyond anyone's imagination and whose policies of less regulation and oversight of banks and wall street led to the worse economic downturn since the great depression?

pps are you claiming that the repugs in congress have not done their best to stymie all of obama's policies...even ones that were originally repug ideas

How about you include ALL the speakers and their mention. And how about the fact there is NO mention on what their plan is to save the economy. And how about the mention that they will NOT be bound by fact checks, ergo, they will lie to your face as they always have.

yeah, cuz usually, the speakers at a convention tell us what the candidate's platform is and about all he plans to do... Right after ripping the last president of their party affiliation a new one and blaming him for all the problems. That happens all the time at Democrat conventions, right?

So, then, why don't republicans hold the obstructionist do-thing republicans responsible for what they KEPT him from doing during his 4 years? They announced that was what they were doing and they certainly got cheers for it.

They hypocrisy of cheering on someone who PREVENTS the economy from improving, then BASHING the guy who tried to do something, is not only a bit hypocritical, it's downright INSANE.

Romney isn't a specifics kind of guy. I've heard some of the remarks he's made at campaign stops and they all boil down to "I'm gonna fix what Obama broke." "I'm gonna grow jobs." "I'm gonna turn the economy around." Do you really think that people should vote for someone based on such slim pickings?

I understand that convention speakers are just trying to fire up their supporters. Ann Romney was dragged out to try and put a human face on Mitt and she failed, IMO. Christie just trumpeted his own achievements, another failure.

People of both parties talk about the dumbing-down of American politics but when we question the hype, we get responses like yours. I'll be waiting to see if Mitt gives me something to think about, but I'm not holding my breath.

2. Ann Romney, Chris Christie and the GOP aren't expecting you to be impressed or counting on swaying your vote.
