Our Military...

You aren't paying attention, at all. You do this and I think you just like to hear yourself talk because you go in circles. Can't you extrapolate? Isn't it clear to you that if someone does get into the military that their views become known very quickly? We used to have a culture of inclusiveness in the military but that changed during the Bush years...could it be because of privatization? I think that's part of it...but also our culture has been fractured with culture wars etc. The Fox entertainment calling itself news has a lot to do with it, along with the other talking head haters that spew hate and fear 24/7...yet you seem to think we're powerless to do anything about it due to what, constitutional issues, only with a Roberts court.

I have not said we are powerless. I simply asked questions about the methology. But once I asked those questions I was immediately insulted and dismissed. And here I thought the purpose of these boards was discussion.

So none of my questions were valid because I used the phrase "politically correct"? lol Too funny.

No it isn't funny at all, it's disgusting. The appropriate description for racism and hate wouldn't be 'politically incorrect'. Only a detached, minimized perspective on the problem would describe it as such. And such detachment and minimization is despicable, given its effects. Are you grasping it yet? Want me to draw you a picture?

Racism and hate are not what I was discussing. I was looking at the things that you would use to determine racism. But so far all you have done is bitch, moan, insult and avoid a discussion. I can see why you were run off the other boards. Rather than discuss things in a civil manner, you launch attacks and attempt to demean the other person.

So fuck you too. :good4u:

WTF are you talking about? No one 'ran me off' anywhere.

You're a crybaby and you're walking back your 'pc' charge. You set out to diminish the topic and dumb down the discussion, and are now sniveling because you got called out and your idiotic assertions handily eviscerated. Don't like it? Tough shit. Grow up.

And you were ANSWERED. A more thorough background check is in order.
How thorough? A Top Secret security clearance check goes all the way back to grade school, in addition to a bunch of other shit (literally). If that's the new requirement for ALL military persons, not only is the expense in training going to be raised (I think by an extra $500,000 per person), but then how are you going to segregate higher level security functions? And, for the record, those checks won't find much on racism. Most military racists develop their opinion IN service.

Then the whole organization stinks, doesn't it? Must be why I don't 'support' it.

I was addressing the comment made earlier. And no, I did not set out to diminish the topic. I set out to discuss the actions that can be taken. You simply got pissy when I questions your all-knowing opinions.

And I am not the one throwing hissy fits and telling people off when they ask questions. You are the one creating hostility ratrher than working on communication.

But...but....but it would weed out racists! But you are just dumbing it down! But you are supposed to just agree with me!!

Sorry, my sarcasm got the better of me. lol

I was in from 1979 to 1985. I served onboard the USS James Madison, SSBN 627. I could name dozens of people with Top secret clearances and higher that did drugs, committed crimes, and broke security protocols.
Did you serve with tatooed Nazi's, militant christian nationalists and gun runners? I remember the Madison, I think lol...sailors run in my family. My ex served on the USS Hancock. When I was around the military people like the ones under discussion would have been frog marched to the nearest exit. You didn't listen to the interview obviously so you may not be aware that we're talking about very bad actors, not just MJ users.

Your tax dollars do. :)

Also, to support the troops does not mean accepting racism or other terrible attributes of individual soldiers. It means supporting those who have chosen to serve. If you choose not to do so, that is fine. I, on the other hand, see that most of the people in ouir military are fine citizens, and I will not disparage them for the actions of a few.

Bully for you.
