A couple months ago I promised Irish I would post something regarding this date in greater detail here in this particular forum.

For all my brothers and sisters here with understanding, there is an astronomical (not astrological) event coming on Sept.23 which will only occur once in man's history. There were partial events of this sign given by God to Abraham and then again to the Wise Men at Christ's birth.
A few guidelines:
The "woman" is Israel.
The "dragon" is Satan.
The desert is most likely Sinai.
Jupiter is also known as the King star representing Christ.
The stars surrounding Leo comprise the crown above Virgo.
Jupiter finally exits the quadrant of Virgo's womb the day after Rosh Hashanah this year.

Two quick things about signs:
1) Genesis 1:14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,"

2)Matthew 24:34-36 "Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

For prophetic purposes though, we can't get much closer to Christ's return to gather His own prior to the Great Tribulation upon the earth (the Rapture of the Church). For any unbelievers reading this post, we are not talking about the end of the world.

Another thing to keep in mind. We have an eclipse coming in a week. If you look at sites like NOAA, they show exactly what you would see through a telescope. And, it shows how the additional 3 stars (Venus, Mars & Mercury) are now in view to create the perfect 12 star crown needed for 33 days from then. Scientifically and prophetically things are lining up right on schedule. We really do have an AWESOME God!

The next total eclipse will be seen by other countries in 2024.

Nobody including myself has "predicted" an exact day, hour and minute of the Rapture. God is sovereign and he will do as he pleases when he wants to. The historical evidence is here that there will be a "significant" event regarding Israel in this time frame. God does not lie. Satan is the father of lies. Jesus told us to watch for certain signs. This thread is for those with understanding. You and many will not believe and therefore can not believe. Take your argument to God...your fight is with him. No believer here will argue with you.

There is "nothing new under the sun" (Solomon). Only 8 people believed in the time of Noah...they lived.

August (Elul) and September (Tishri) overlap in the Hebrew calendar.

It's a time for repentance and atonement. We look to the words of the prophet Isaiah, who said, "Seek God when He is at hand; Call upon Him when He is near" (Is 55:6).

It will be in the 7th month, Tishri where we have the Feast of Trumpets and the aforementioned celestial alignment. The Feast of Trumpets from the age of the Law translates to the time period Church age as the Rapture of the Church.

This total eclipse is entering through our 33rd state. It is exiting in Lake Moultrie, S.C. which is at 33.33 degrees latitude N. Then 33 days later will be the Rev.12 alignment. This type of 'additional' new moon occurs every 33 months. The gematria for 'ECLIPSE' is 33.

Meteorologists show the path of the eclipse is 70 miles wide. 70 years is the Bible length of a generation.

King David was born in 2854, and died 70 years later in 2924. So, the halfway point in David's life (35 years old in 2889) was also the halfway point from Creation to the year 5778. (2889x2=5778)

The acronym from the 5778 timeline spells the end for "mankind".

There's really just so much room I have to type entire chapters. I'm trying to stick to the scientific and prophetical information so it's all a bit more 'digestible'. But, I do pull the essential verses for specificity. I'll always type in the book, chapter and verse though so, folks (if they choose) can read the entire chapter for themselves to gain full context.
As far as the Romans, God created them, LOL. Maybe the Romans were the first to lay it all out on paper or something...I don't know. But, actually the Bible is chock full of constellation references. The last few chapters of Job come to mind right now, but I'll find more and create a list. God created the heavens and stars perfectly.
And yes, the Apostle John is the author of the Book of Revelation. He wrote it when he was about 92 years old, while a prisoner of Rome on the remote desert penal colony of Patmos, an island in the Aegean Sea.

Are you going to be disappointed if nothing happens?

No. God is sovereign. He will do what he wants, when he wants. The Lord said for us to "occupy" until he comes...just live our lives, eat, sleep, go to work, play with our dogs, whatever. He's also told us to use wisdom and "watch" the signs he has given. As I mentioned back in the beginning, all of this adds up to something of great significance concerning Israel. This could be the Rapture prior to the Great Tribulation. Things have also been happening in another country which are showing evidence of the rise of the antichrist who would appear to the world immediately after the Church has been removed from the earth. The Bible says, he'll be the one telling everybody, "Be calm, don't worry, everything will be fine, peace, peace". Of course he is the Liar and things won't be OK, but a lot of people will be deceived and follow him. But, that's another topic. Sooooo, we'll see.

According to a few of the eclipse path maps I've seen, the greatest point (strongest view of totality of darkness) is around Carbondale, IL (the Little Egypt area) with GPS coordinates of 37.5N, 88.8W. (the Latin gematria of the name of Jesus 'IESOUS' = 888)
37.5x88.8=3330

This is also the crossover point of the path of both eclipses for 2017 and 2024 when the maps of each are overlayed. Carbon (from Latin: carbo "coal") is a chemical element with symbol C and atomic number 6.
It has:
6 protons
6 elctrons
6 neutrons

The amount of days between the 2017 and 2024 eclipses = 2423 days
2423 days is 666% of a prophetic year of 360 days.

Suggestions that the Great American Eclipse is a sign of God's judgment on the United States continue to emerge, with one pastor saying it means Christians should be repenting, given when it falls on the Jewish calendar.

Mark Blitz, pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake, Washington, noted that solar eclipses are often seen in the Jewish world as a sign of God's judgment on the Gentiles. As CP reported last week, Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, said something very similar in a blog post. Conversely, the nation of Israel operates by a lunar calendar, and lunar eclipses represent coming judgment for them.

"And the fascinating thing for me is, God is not interested in the heathen to repent as much as he wants the Church to repent. Judgment always begins with the House of God," he said.

The Great American Eclipse is a "warning" that Christians need to take the lead and repent, Blitz continued.

This particular transcontinental solar eclipse will occur on Monday and happens to fall (on the biblical calendar) on the first day of the Jewish month of Elul, which is known as the "month of repentance," Blitz explained.

"It was on Elul 1 that Jonah left for 40 days to tell Nineveh to repent. It was Elul 1 that Moses went up to Mount Sinai after the sin of the golden calf to make atonement while Israel was repenting for that. It was on Elul 1 that Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days, coming back out on Yom Kippur," Blitz said.

"To have this solar eclipse happening at this time," he added, has "huge" significance.

He went on to say that he believes the Aug. 21 eclipse signifies that the American Church has 40 days to repent.

Just as Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah for the few righteous people that might be there, Blitz said he wondered how many righteous would be needed to spare the United States.

In addition to the biblical examples Blitz cited, the history of the 20th century bears out the principle, he explained.

"People don't realize this but World War I started in August of 1914 and there was a total solar eclipse over Eastern Europe and the Ottoman Empire."

The path of that particular eclipse even went over Nineveh where the prophet Jonah went and the Ottoman Empire was destroyed, he said.

God was "preparing the ground" for Jonah's arrival in Nineveh with this eclipse, Blitz asserted. And cuneiform tablets from that era show that a major plague in the land occurred three years before Jonah came. A civil war followed shortly after that plague, and yet another plague occurred after that.

One month before Jonah came on June 15, 763 B.C., a solar eclipse occurred over Nineveh, which is now famously known as the "Assyrian eclipse" or the "Bur-Sagale eclipse."

The Ninevites were ready to repent in light of all of this, Blitz said. And because they did repent they did not receive judgment, "it didn't' happen for a while," he added.

"Just like I never set dates for anything, but what I do say is, 'Look at the events that happen on God's calendar so you can know if it's God who is speaking or not. And then hopefully we repent and judgment is stayed.'"

"But I believe judgment, because it is falling on Elul 1 — and this is the first time a solar eclipse has ever gone over the entire United States and nowhere else in over 100 years."

Interestingly, the 1914 total solar eclipse that occurred just after World War I began and crossed over the entirety of the continent of Europe, Nineveh, and farther into Asia also occurred on Aug. 21.

Suggestions that the Great American Eclipse is a sign of God's judgment on the United States continue to emerge, with one pastor saying it means Christians should be repenting, given when it falls on the Jewish calendar.

Mark Blitz, pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake, Washington, noted that solar eclipses are often seen in the Jewish world as a sign of God's judgment on the Gentiles. As CP reported last week, Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, said something very similar in a blog post. Conversely, the nation of Israel operates by a lunar calendar, and lunar eclipses represent coming judgment for them.

"And the fascinating thing for me is, God is not interested in the heathen to repent as much as he wants the Church to repent. Judgment always begins with the House of God," he said.

The Great American Eclipse is a "warning" that Christians need to take the lead and repent, Blitz continued.

This particular transcontinental solar eclipse will occur on Monday and happens to fall (on the biblical calendar) on the first day of the Jewish month of Elul, which is known as the "month of repentance," Blitz explained.

"It was on Elul 1 that Jonah left for 40 days to tell Nineveh to repent. It was Elul 1 that Moses went up to Mount Sinai after the sin of the golden calf to make atonement while Israel was repenting for that. It was on Elul 1 that Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days, coming back out on Yom Kippur," Blitz said.

"To have this solar eclipse happening at this time," he added, has "huge" significance.

He went on to say that he believes the Aug. 21 eclipse signifies that the American Church has 40 days to repent.

Just as Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah for the few righteous people that might be there, Blitz said he wondered how many righteous would be needed to spare the United States.

In addition to the biblical examples Blitz cited, the history of the 20th century bears out the principle, he explained.

"People don't realize this but World War I started in August of 1914 and there was a total solar eclipse over Eastern Europe and the Ottoman Empire."

The path of that particular eclipse even went over Nineveh where the prophet Jonah went and the Ottoman Empire was destroyed, he said.

God was "preparing the ground" for Jonah's arrival in Nineveh with this eclipse, Blitz asserted. And cuneiform tablets from that era show that a major plague in the land occurred three years before Jonah came. A civil war followed shortly after that plague, and yet another plague occurred after that.

One month before Jonah came on June 15, 763 B.C., a solar eclipse occurred over Nineveh, which is now famously known as the "Assyrian eclipse" or the "Bur-Sagale eclipse."

The Ninevites were ready to repent in light of all of this, Blitz said. And because they did repent they did not receive judgment, "it didn't' happen for a while," he added.

"Just like I never set dates for anything, but what I do say is, 'Look at the events that happen on God's calendar so you can know if it's God who is speaking or not. And then hopefully we repent and judgment is stayed.'"

"But I believe judgment, because it is falling on Elul 1 — and this is the first time a solar eclipse has ever gone over the entire United States and nowhere else in over 100 years."

Interestingly, the 1914 total solar eclipse that occurred just after World War I began and crossed over the entirety of the continent of Europe, Nineveh, and farther into Asia also occurred on Aug. 21.

He wrote it when he was about 92 years old, while a prisoner of Rome on the remote desert penal colony of Patmos, an island in the Aegean Sea. Patmos was a quarry mine for the Roman Empire, and was home to many political and religious prisoners or slaves.

Who is this John? Revelation 1:5 gives us a hint when the author says, "To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood . . ." This is a very personal statement and is very similar to the opening verses of 1 John 1-9. In 1 John 1:1 the apostle John speaks about touching the Lord with his hands and seeing Him. It is important to recall that he was the disciple whom Jesus loved (John 13:23; 20:2; 21:7, 20). When disasters happen, the real point is that they could happen to any of us at any time. It is only because God is love that one heartbeat follows another. He gives life and love to all. The calamities and catastrophes that engulf our world serve as reminders that this world of sin, pain, hate, fear, and tragedy will not last forever. Jesus has promised that He will return to Earth to save us from our world that is falling to pieces. God has promised to make everything new again and that sin will never rise up again. Nahum 1:9

God will live with His people, and there will be an end to death, crying, and pain. "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" Revelation 21:3-4

For all my brothers and sisters here with understanding, there is an astronomical (not astrological) event coming on Sept.23 which will only occur once in man's history. There were partial events of this sign given by God to Abraham and then again to the Wise Men at Christ's birth.
A few guidelines:
The "woman" is Israel.
The "dragon" is Satan.
The desert is most likely Sinai.
Jupiter is also known as the King star representing Christ.
The stars surrounding Leo comprise the crown above Virgo.
Jupiter finally exits the quadrant of Virgo's womb the day after Rosh Hashanah this year.

Two quick things about signs:
1) Genesis 1:14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,"

2)Matthew 24:34-36 "Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

For prophetic purposes though, we can't get much closer to Christ's return to gather His own prior to the Great Tribulation upon the earth (the Rapture of the Church). For any unbelievers reading this post, we are not talking about the end of the world.

There's really just so much room I have to type entire chapters. I'm trying to stick to the scientific and prophetical information so it's all a bit more 'digestible'. But, I do pull the essential verses for specificity. I'll always type in the book, chapter and verse though so, folks (if they choose) can read the entire chapter for themselves to gain full context.
As far as the Romans, God created them, LOL. Maybe the Romans were the first to lay it all out on paper or something...I don't know. But, actually the Bible is chock full of constellation references. The last few chapters of Job come to mind right now, but I'll find more and create a list. God created the heavens and stars perfectly.

There must be more desire and effort for the reconstruction to begin. It's a huge historical discussion to get into here. We know one thing. To put it all in an extremely compact way...the Antichrist would have to be on the scene (which happens at the beginning of the Biblical "70th week" which is the 7-year Tribulation period). Israel would have to defeat Islam and gain control of the Dome of the rock. Mid way through the Trib (3 1/2 years) the Antichrist will fully reveal himself and betray Israel, sit himself on the throne in Israel (abomination of the desolation), cease allowing all further sacrifices and turn on the Jews and assume world power until the 2nd coming 3 1/2 years later. Of course this time will be hell on earth with natural disasters, starvation, plagues, floods, droughts, one-world government & currency, buying & selling only with the mark of the beast and people coming to Christ in those times will be executed by the millions for their faith. Currently Israel is still in the planning stages of the reconstruction.

The most common teaching of the timing of the Rapture of the Church is pre Trib. The closer Israel gets to solid plans to start rebuilding, the closer we get to the Rapture. All eyes are on Israel.

Sorry, I disagree, the Gospels were written to fit those prophesies. They are taken out of context and divorced from their original meaning, like Mary being a virgin, Jesus being born of the lineage of David and his being born in Bethlaham.

Hezbollah has more than 10,000 fighters in southern Syria ready to confront Israel, a commander for the Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group has said.

“Hezbollah has over 10,000 fighters deployed in southern Syria. Hezbollah is an army of infantry, rockets, tanks, elite forces,” the Hezbollah official told the Middle East Eye website this week, amid tensions surrounding the shooting down by the Israeli Air Force on Tuesday of an Iranian-built drone launched by the group as it attempted to cross into airspace.

The commander said the fighters were based in areas surrounding the Golan Heights and that tunnels and military bases were being built for a possible confrontation with Israel

“We are operating as we do in south Lebanon, but of course in a veiled manner,” he said.

Speaking of the truce in southern Syria, under the auspices of Russia and the United Nations, the commander said that the “de-escalation plan is better for us. We are working with more freedom, there are no more bombings.”

The commander said that the next war with Israel may start from Syria but “what really matters is where will it end, will it be in Netanya, Haifa or Kiryat Shmona?”

On Tuesday, Israel used a Patriot missile to shoot down the drone launched by Hezbollah and scrambled fighter jets to the area where the device was set to cross into Israeli airspace, but ultimately did not need to use them as the interceptor missile was able to destroy the target.

The Patriot interceptor missile was launched from a military installation in northern Israel, near the city of Safed.

After the drone breached the “Bravo line” that marks the Syrian border and entered the demilitarized zone — but not Israeli airspace — the IDF “decided to intercept it,” army spokesperson Lt. Col. Yonatan Conricus said Tuesday.

In a statement, the IDF said it “will not allow any infiltration or approach toward the Golan Heights area by terrorist figures from Iranian forces, Hezbollah, Shiite militias or Islamic Jihad.”

According to Conricus, the air force monitored the unmanned aerial vehicle from its take-off at Damascus airport to the demilitarized zone that separates the Israeli and Syrian Golan Heights.

“We monitor everything that flies toward the State of Israel and follow it closely for any potential threat,” he said.

Conricus said Military Intelligence was able to identify the drone as Iranian-built and Hezbollah-launched based on the army’s arrays of sensors in the area and its years of experience monitoring the group.

The spokesperson said the drone appeared to be performing reconnaissance mission in the area. It was not immediately clear if the drone was armed.

Shortly after the incident, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman warned that any country or terrorist group that threatens Israel will “pay a dear price, very dear.”

The debris from the drone landed near the Syrian city of Quneitra so the IDF was not able to recover it, he said.

The Patriot missile system was designed by the United States to intercept incoming missiles and aircraft. It has been deployed in Israel since the 1990s, but first saw anti-aircraft combat during the 2014 Gaza war, when a battery shot down an unmanned Hamas aircraft over the port of Ashdod.

Israel has long been concerned by its nemesis Iran’s ongoing efforts to establish itself in southern Syria, near the Golan Heights.

Jerusalem fears that the Iranian presence in that area would serve as a springboard for terrorist groups to attack Israel in the future.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly been negotiating with his counterparts in the United States and Russia to establish an Iran-free area around surrounding the border, but to no avail yet.

Earlier this month, tens of thousands of Israeli soldiers participated in the largest military drill since 1998, simulating war with Hezbollah for 10 days.

The exercise was named “Or HaDagan” after Meir Dagan, a former Mossad chief and IDF general who died last year.

Israel last fought a full-scare war with Hezbollah in 2006’s Second Lebanon War, and tensions have remained high even as the northern border has remained relatively quiet since.

This exercise was touted as a chance to practice failures or military shortcomings exposed during the war.

Led by Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah is believed to have an arsenal of between 100,000 and 150,000 short-, medium- and long-range missiles and a fighting force of some 50,000 soldiers, including reservists.

While Israeli military officers often discuss a future conflict with the terrorist group as a matter of “when, not if,” the assessment of the IDF is that Hezbollah is not currently interested in renewed warfare with Israel at present, due to its active involvement in the Syrian civil war, which have caused it significant strategic problems.

For prophetic purposes though, we can't get much closer to Christ's return to gather His own prior to the Great Tribulation upon the earth (the Rapture of the Church). For any unbelievers reading this post, we are not talking about the end of the world.

Nobody including myself has "predicted" an exact day, hour and minute of the Rapture. God is sovereign and he will do as he pleases when he wants to. The historical evidence is here that there will be a "significant" event regarding Israel in this time frame.

God is sovereign. He will do what he wants, when he wants. The Lord said for us to "occupy" until he comes...just live our lives, eat, sleep, go to work, play with our dogs, whatever. He's also told us to use wisdom and "watch" the signs he has given. As I mentioned back in the beginning, all of this adds up to something of great significance concerning Israel. This could be the Rapture prior to the Great Tribulation.

Iran Tries to Reconcile Syria and Hamas, Rebuilding Alliance


BEIRUT (AP) — Iran is working to restore a lost link in its network of alliances in the Middle East, trying to bring Hamas fully back into the fold after the Palestinian militant group had a bitter fall-out with Iranian ally Syria over that country’s civil war.
Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah are quietly trying to mediate a reconciliation between Syria and Hamas. If they succeed, it would shore up a weak spot in the alliance at a time when Iran has strengthened ties with Syria and Iraq, building a bloc of support across the region to counter Israel and the United States’ Arab allies.

Hamas had long been based in Syria, receiving Damascus’ support in the militant group’s campaign against Israel. Hamas’ powerful leadership-in-exile remained in Syria even after the group took power in the Gaza Strip in 2007. Together with Iran and the Shiite guerrilla group Hezbollah, they touted themselves as the “Axis of Resistance” to oppose Israel.

But when Syria tipped into civil war, Hamas broke with President Bashar Assad and sided with the rebels fighting to oust him. The rebels are largely Sunni Muslims, like Hamas, and scenes of Sunni civilian deaths raised an outcry across the region against Assad, who belongs to the minority Alawite sect.

Iran, meanwhile, has been one of Assad’s strongest backers since the crisis in Syria began in 2011, pumping billions of dollars into the economy and sending advisers as well as Iranian-backed fighters to help him stay in power. Hezbollah sent thousands of fighters, helping tip the war in Assad’s favor against the rebels and now helping in the fight against the Islamic State group.

The reconciliation attempt comes after Hamas elected a new leadership and as its main backers, Qatar and Turkey — both strong supporters of the rebels in Syria — have sought to improve relations with Iran.

Hamas and Iran did not completely cut off their alliance after the fall-out with Assad. But ties cooled considerably. Tehran’s funding continued, particularly for Hamas’ armed wing, but at a reduced level, while political connections dwindled.

Since Yehiyeh Sinwar took over Hamas leadership in the Gaza Strip in February, the militant group has been rebuilding those relations. In August, the most senior Hamas delegation in years visited Tehran and took part in President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration. During their visit, the delegation met with the parliament speaker and senior aides to Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

This year, Hamas officials have held three meetings with Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah and relations have returned to normal, according to a Palestinian official in Beirut.

Iran has responded by increasing funding. Sinwar told reporters last month that Iran is now “the largest backer financially and militarily” of Hamas’ armed wing. He said that with Iran’s help, Hamas is “accumulating” its military powers in preparation for a battle meant for “the liberation of Palestine.”

Now Iran wants to end the rift between its two allies, Assad and Hamas.

A Lebanese politician with close links to the Syrian government confirmed that Iranian-Hezbollah mediation is ongoing, adding that it is still in the “very early stages.”

A Palestinian official who closely follows Hamas’ relations in the region also confirmed the mediation effort and said there were “positive signals” from Syria.

Both the politician and the official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the secret mediation.

But the mediation faces a tough task given how bitter the split was.

At first when Syria’s conflict began, Hamas’ leadership in exile remained largely silent. But tensions grew with the increased bloodshed, and finally in January 2012, Hamas’ leader in exile Khaled Mashaal left Syria to Qatar, one of Assad’s main opponents.

The following September, he gave a speech in Turkey proclaiming, “We welcome the revolution of the Syrian people who are seeking freedom and independence” and that “the pure blood of these great people is being shed” because they seek democracy.

Within hours, Syrian authorities sealed up all Hamas offices in the country and expelled its members to Lebanon. They have not been allowed back since.

This month, Mahmoud Zahar, a senior Hamas figure in Gaza, told Al-Mayadeen TV that relations must be repaired with Syria and other countries that “are hostile to us without a reason.” Pressed about possible reconciliation with Syria, Zahar said, “There are steps and they should continue.”

Syrian officials told mediators they are open to reconciliation but will not allow Hamas to open an office in Damascus, prominent Palestinian journalist Abdul-Bari Atwan wrote in his online newspaper Rai al-Youm.

Khaled Abdul-Majid, a Palestinian official based in Syria who has close relations with the government, said that in the Syrians’ eyes, statements by Hamas toward improving ties “are not enough.”

“What happened was big. It was betrayal as Syrian authorities say,” Abdul-Majid said. “These (mediation) efforts have not reached serious steps.”

The rebels are largely Sunni Muslims, like Hamas, and scenes of Sunni civilian deaths raised an outcry across the region against Assad, who belongs to the minority Alawite sect.

Iran, meanwhile, has been one of Assad’s strongest backers since the crisis in Syria began in 2011, pumping billions of dollars into the economy and sending advisers as well as Iranian-backed fighters to help him stay in power. Hezbollah sent thousands of fighters, helping tip the war in Assad’s favor against the rebels and now helping in the fight against the Islamic State group.

The reconciliation attempt comes after Hamas elected a new leadership and as its main backers, Qatar and Turkey — both strong supporters of the rebels in Syria — have sought to improve relations with Iran.

Hamas and Iran did not completely cut off their alliance after the fall-out with Assad. But ties cooled considerably. Tehran’s funding continued, particularly for Hamas’ armed wing, but at a reduced level, while political connections dwindled.

Since Yehiyeh Sinwar took over Hamas leadership in the Gaza Strip in February, the militant group has been rebuilding those relations. In August, the most senior Hamas delegation in years visited Tehran and took part in President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration. During their visit, the delegation met with the parliament speaker and senior aides to Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

This year, Hamas officials have held three meetings with Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah and relations have returned to normal, according to a Palestinian official in Beirut.

Iran has responded by increasing funding. Sinwar told reporters last month that Iran is now “the largest backer financially and militarily” of Hamas’ armed wing. He said that with Iran’s help, Hamas is “accumulating” its military powers in preparation for a battle meant for “the liberation of Palestine.”

Now Iran wants to end the rift between its two allies, Assad and Hamas.

A Lebanese politician with close links to the Syrian government confirmed that Iranian-Hezbollah mediation is ongoing, adding that it is still in the “very early stages.”

A Palestinian official who closely follows Hamas’ relations in the region also confirmed the mediation effort and said there were “positive signals” from Syria.

Both the politician and the official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the secret mediation.

But the mediation faces a tough task given how bitter the split was.

At first when Syria’s conflict began, Hamas’ leadership in exile remained largely silent. But tensions grew with the increased bloodshed, and finally in January 2012, Hamas’ leader in exile Khaled Mashaal left Syria to Qatar, one of Assad’s main opponents.

The following September, he gave a speech in Turkey proclaiming, “We welcome the revolution of the Syrian people who are seeking freedom and independence” and that “the pure blood of these great people is being shed” because they seek democracy.

Within hours, Syrian authorities sealed up all Hamas offices in the country and expelled its members to Lebanon. They have not been allowed back since.

This month, Mahmoud Zahar, a senior Hamas figure in Gaza, told Al-Mayadeen TV that relations must be repaired with Syria and other countries that “are hostile to us without a reason.” Pressed about possible reconciliation with Syria, Zahar said, “There are steps and they should continue.”

Syrian officials told mediators they are open to reconciliation but will not allow Hamas to open an office in Damascus, prominent Palestinian journalist Abdul-Bari Atwan wrote in his online newspaper Rai al-Youm.

Khaled Abdul-Majid, a Palestinian official based in Syria who has close relations with the government, said that in the Syrians’ eyes, statements by Hamas toward improving ties “are not enough.”

“What happened was big. It was betrayal as Syrian authorities say,” Abdul-Majid said. “These (mediation) efforts have not reached serious steps.”

The California Wildfires Are Apparently Burning At A Rate Of ‘More Than A Football Field Every Three Seconds’

“We’re not out of the woods, and we’re not going to be out of the woods for a number of days to come,” Cal Fire Chief Ken Pimlott said at a news conference Wednesday. “We’re literally looking at explosive vegetation. These fires are burning actively during the day and at night.”

What makes these fast-moving fires particularly dangerous, Pimlott said, is that they “aren’t just in the backwoods. . . . These fires are burning in and around developed communities.”

Nearly two dozen large fires have been raging in the northern part of the state, sending thousands of residents to evacuation centers and burning roughly 170,000 acres — a collective area larger than the city of Chicago. That size is likely to grow.

Pimlott said he’s worried that “several of these fires will merge.”

“This is a serious, critical, catastrophic event,” he said.

Losses are equally grim in Mendocino County, where two fires had merged into one, and the death toll climbed from two to six in the last 24 hours.

Hurricane Ophelia is heading north through cooler waters past the European west coast and United Kingdom. She's predicted to retain powerful hurricane force winds.

Ophelia is much farther north than you will find most hurricanes in the open Atlantic, which means it is not caught up in the normal tropical trade winds that push systems from east to west across the ocean. This is allowing Ophelia to drift towards the north and east, towards Europe.

While the ocean waters there are not as warm as those in the Caribbean, which allowed previous storms to reach peak intensity, they are warm enough to let Ophelia maintain hurricane strength for the next several days as it picks up speed.

TRACK THE STORM

Ophelia will get caught in the "westerlies," the jet-stream-powered flow that moves mid-latitude weather from west to east, over the weekend as it passes Portugal and Spain and heads towards Ireland.

Its interaction with colder water and the jet stream means Opehlia will likely lose its tropical characteristics before reaching Ireland and the UK, becoming a post-tropical (also called extra-tropical) storm. But that will not have a significant impact on its overall strength as it nears Europe, as Ophelia is expected to have winds of up to 75 mph.

Met Éireann, the Irish Meteorological Service, says Ophelia "has the potential to be a high-impact event in parts of the country," listing strong winds, heavy rain, and high seas as likely impacts.

While rare, it is not unprecedented to have post-tropical storms reach the British Isles. The post-tropical remnants of Hurricane Gordon moved over Ireland and Northern Ireland in 2006 with winds of 65 mph, leaving more than 120,000 people without power.

So we kids spent countless hours in church and Sunday school as kids, as well as the dreaded vacation bible school and then confirmation classes for a year in our early teens. We memorized countless Bible verses, as well as the whole Lutheran liturgical stuff (chants, Apostles Creed, etc.). Our pastor took our confirmation class to various other churches including a synagogue where we learned what other faiths followed.

Not a single time did I *ever* hear a word about the Rapture silliness until I went to a fundie church for a couple of years while in my 20s. They were all convinced that it was going to happen any day now. Any. Day. Soon. For realz! At the time I thought that they were cuckoo and I believed that they cling to this because they so desperately want to pretend that they're different and "special" and better God-servants than everyone else, including all other Xtian flavors. During the tribulation some Jews and some Gentiles will be saved, but they will suffer horrendous deaths for believing during that time. Much different now during

Another thing to keep in mind. We have an eclipse coming in a week. If you look at sites like NOAA, they show exactly what you would see through a telescope. And, it shows how the additional 3 stars (Venus, Mars & Mercury) are now in view to create the perfect 12 star crown needed for 33 days from then. Scientifically and prophetically things are lining up right on schedule. We really do have an AWESOME God!

The scripture was written by many humans over a period of many decades. Much of the scripture is metaphorical, nebulous, sometimes inconsistent and contradictory. It is not possible to cherry pick quotes. Trained theologians spends lifetimes studying the bible comprehensively and in context.

The most compelling case against a pretribubulation rapture is that no Christian believed in it for the first 1,800 years of Christianity. This half baked eschatology only was invented in America by fundamentalists 150 years ago.

The scripture was written by many humans over a period of many decades. Much of the scripture is metaphorical, nebulous, sometimes inconsistent and contradictory. It is not possible to cherry pick quotes. Trained theologians spends lifetimes studying the bible comprehensively and in context.

The most compelling case against a pretribubulation rapture is that no Christian believed in it for the first 1,800 years of Christianity. This half baked eschatology only was invented in America by fundamentalists 150 years ago.

To be honest, I am not stating my opinion. I am humble enough to admit I am stating the accepted Christian theology of virtually all mainstream Christian denominations on the planet: a fair and informed reading of the scripture does not support the 19th century American fundamentalist theory of pretribubulation rapture. And these mainline denominations feel it is preposterous to think airline pilots are going to disappear from the cockpit.

The fact is, neither you or I have actually ever read the New Testament. Not as it was actually written. The NT was written in Greek. You are reading English translations which were in turn translated from Latin which were in turn translated from Greek. You are not actually reading the original words and intent of the NT authors - you are reading a pale attempt at duplication. It is not possible to translate languages. It is only possible to interpret meanings. That is the way languages work. An English translation of Dostoyevsky is only a pale version of the intent and meaning in the original Russian

That is why it takes theological experts who typically understand ancient Greek and Latin to digest and clarify the intent of the scripture.

Another thing to keep in mind. We have an eclipse coming in a week. If you look at sites like NOAA, they show exactly what you would see through a telescope. And, it shows how the additional 3 stars (Venus, Mars & Mercury) are now in view to create the perfect 12 star crown needed for 33 days from then. Scientifically and prophetically things are lining up right on schedule. We really do have an AWESOME God!

Did jesus get lost?

There are multiple times in which Jesus said his disciples would not taste death and would still be alive when the "Second Coming would occur. What's more, the disciples believed it, using such phrases as "then we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord", as well as Paul warning believers that they in should not marry, because Jesus was coming back soon. Even in Revelation, John claimed he had a vision from Jesus saying he was coming soon.

"Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Mark 13:30-31)

"He also said to them, “Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see that the kingdom of God has come in power.” (Mark 9:1)

Jesus claimed he would return within the lifetime of the Apostles, and they believed him. The Apostles all died and Jesus never returned. Therefore Christianity should have been discarded.

For all my brothers and sisters here with understanding, there is an astronomical (not astrological) event coming on Sept.23 which will only occur once in man's history. There were partial events of this sign given by God to Abraham and then again to the Wise Men at Christ's birth.
A few guidelines:
The "woman" is Israel.
The "dragon" is Satan.
The desert is most likely Sinai.
Jupiter is also known as the King star representing Christ.
The stars surrounding Leo comprise the crown above Virgo.
Jupiter finally exits the quadrant of Virgo's womb the day after Rosh Hashanah this year.

Two quick things about signs:
1) Genesis 1:14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,"

2)Matthew 24:34-36 "Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

For prophetic purposes though, we can't get much closer to Christ's return to gather His own prior to the Great Tribulation upon the earth (the Rapture of the Church). For any unbelievers reading this post, we are not talking about the end of the world.

In summation, Jesus clearly promised that some of his disciples would still be alive when he returned. It has been almost 2,000 years since Jesus left and his followers are long gone. How should the Torah in Deuteronomy deal with this? If he was proclaiming prophesy and it did not come true, then he would have incurred the death penalty.

The claim of Paul and the New Testament authors is that Jesus fulfilled many prophecies connected to the Hebrew Scriptures (so-called Old Testament) and a true believer will easily be able to see them. The gospel according to Matthew, in particular, attempts to cross-reference the miraculous birth, deeds, and proclamations attributed to Jesus with relevant passages found in Tanach. What are the differences in Christianity vs Judaism?

Closer scrutiny, however, reveals a great conspiracy and tampering of the evidence. Not one verse from Tanach proves the messiahship of Jesus. Matthew 1:22-23
What is significant here is not only is this verse being taken out of context, it is also being mistranslated (more examples of this to follow). This verse is the basis for Christian theology concerning the miraculous “Virgin Birth” of Jesus. The manufacture of this myth fits a 1st Century mindset where it was very common amongst pagans to venerate their leaders as being “born of God.” It freed them from the “taint” of being conceived by “sinful” human flesh. It is also one of the main verses that attempt to prove the idea of a corporeal god and the divinity of Jesus from the translation of the name “Immanuel,” as “God with us.”

Problems with Matthew’s manipulation of this verse:
• How can the birth of a virgin be a sign for anyone? Only God knows the inner secrets of a person, thus, one’s virginity is ultimately a hidden matter

• The word “Immanuel” does not mean "God has become a man and walks among us" nor does it mean "God has become flesh and is with us as a man". Such assertions contradict the word of God. According to God, he isn't a man, as we find in (Numbers 23:19) “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

• Matthew in cross-referencing to Tanach identifies Isaiah 7:14 as the source of this prophecy. What is the context of Isaiah’s message? Who is he addressing when he asserts “The Lord will give a sign: “behold the “Virgin” shall conceive?”

To answer these questions, let’s take a look at the passages in question:

“Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, an Almah shall conceive, and bear a son, and she shall call his name Immanuel.”

Isaiah 7:14
Christian translators changed the word Almah המלע, which actually means “young woman” to read “a virgin.” Any student of Tanach knows that when a prophet wishes to identify the word for virgin in Hebrew he will write “Betulah.” Accordingly, elsewhere in Tanach, when the word Almah appears, Christian translators translate it as “young woman.” In fact, the word has a male form, Elam, םלע, and it is perfectly clear from other uses in Tanach that it is impossible to render this word as a virgin.
