I agree ... Its tough to narrow it down .... and we are going to forget some bigtime classics ... there already have been many listed that could easily make my top 5 ...
I.E. I am a huge Hitchcock fan ... and by the way .. I liked Amastad too....

Amistad was a great movie.

I think you'd have to break it down into categories. There are simply way too many good movies to put down only 5.

Cinderella Man didnt make a big splash ... but I thought that was a great movie ..... Crowe and Ron Howard are becoming like Scorcese and DeNiro ...and Hitchcock and Jimmy Stewart.

Honorary mention to the video where Al Gore walks into a display of the founders of America and asks "Who are these guys?". Lucky for him he's a Democrat and the Liberal media would never mention it, let alone crucify him like they did to Quayle over misspelling potato.

I think you may have your movies confused, I believe youare thinking of To Kill A Mockingbird and Atticus Finch. Inherit The Wind was loosely based on the Scopes Monkey trial.

On the other hand, if you have changed the subject midstream and I am mistaken...well...sally forth...

Most books are better than the movies.

Case in point, I Am Legend. Not one of the three versions of that movie can hold a candle to the book.Actually, at about 170 pages, I guess it would be considered a novella.

And sorry, I just ran out of prizes. ;)
