Anybody ever ride in one of these? Is it worth the bucks I'll need to throw down to take an early morning ride with breakfast served? How much would I need to throw down?

Damo, I launched one before, but didn't ride in it. My mother rode in it and I helped the crew get it off the ground. It was during the HOF festival, and there were a lot of other balloons being launched, and she won the ride. So I can't give you an idea of the price, but she said she loved it, and would have paid to do it if she had to.

Do you just have to put a radio playing Fox News under the opening to inflate them ?

No, the hot air actually has to be present, it can't be replicated.

Damo, why then are not hot air baloons the primary mode of transportation in Washington DC ?

Because the wind vortex makes travel outside of the D.C. area impossible...
