I'm looking for housing in Hawaii.

There's this:
http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/apa/369335163.html

This next place is in Makaha, where they don't particularly take kindly to white folks, but the rent is good:
http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/apa/369310133.html

This is cool also:
http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/apa/369260110.html

I currently live here:

The problem is that they have such a hard-on for smoking out there. I may have to quit.

But I'm paying $1,718.95 for a 2 bedroom in Hell, 7th circle. I could be in Heaven for that. I cannot wait.

$2600 a month? Dude, I'm a big believer in paying a premium price to live in a beautiful area, but I think my DNA is programmed to self destruct at any rent over 2 grand.

Depends what you're in hawaii for though. Short term -- not in it for the long haul or looking to buy a house there? Might as well splurge in that case.

Hawaii is probably the most liberal, or at least the least libertarian, out of any state in the Union, MBL. You can feel happy giving your electoral votes to every Democrat in an election for the next 50 years, though, unless the Democrats start running free marketeers all of the sudden and all we're left with is conservative big governmentism.

In some ways, that is correct. In other ways, not so much.

Keep in mind, I'm moving from a socialist state (California) where I'm getting equally fucked. I'd rather get hosed in heaven than in hell.

Its 44 by 30 miles. The main drawback is that I'm going to have to gamble solely on the black market. It and Utah are the only two states with zero legal gambling. Not even the lottery.

And While the Central California Coast is nice, it doesn't hold a candle to Hawaii.

I don't understand gambling regulation. As a matter of fact I think people are too uptight about people that like to gamble. I know someone who's an elderly woman, and has two of her daughters living at home with two grand kids and she'll go out hang out with friends to 3 or 4 in the morning at the local casino. She likes to do this, she doesn't spend all of her money and there are no negative effects of this habit on her life. She likes to get away because from what I've gathered, people in her house are getting on nerves. Well, anyway, the family is all up in arms and worried that she has a gambling problem. Why are people so uptight about gambling??!! There's no reason it should be illegal anywhere. Or even regulated (beyond making sure taxes are paid).

Well, gambling does destroy lives, as some people get addicted to it and have been known to blow rent and the kids food money on it.

However, so does alcohol. I'm not for making gambling illegal.

But I will not be voting Libertarian over it, because you know, no one dies from making gambling illegal, unlike say, from lack of access to health care. Not really my big issue.

In online poker, there is no need for the house to cheat. It is a huge cash cow, Party Poker is valued in the 10 figure neighborhood.

Keep in mind you're not playing against the house, but other players. The house just takes a few cents to a dollar out of every pot. If they were found to be dishonest in any way, shape or form, they would be completely abandoned and lose billions (yes, with a B) in value and hundreds of millions in revenue.

There truly is no need to cheat.

Actually, they would make NO MONEY if they cheated. Illegals working for WalMart or McDonalds will piss some folks off, but cheating by PartyPoker would flat shut them down. They don't need cheating, nor want it. They want players at their site so they can wet their beak, take a rake. What would they want to cheat for?

downside, is there aren't many dentists in the network. Very limited choices.

Plus side: I don't pay a dime for anything. No co-pays, no deductibles, no nothing. I had three wisdom teeth pulled a couple years ago. Didn't cost a penny.

but since talking to you from politics.com, I think you've been in california once, then Washington, then l.a., now Hawaii. I think you have geographical a.d.d.

Don't forget Colorado. But I ended up back where I began, and I detest it. So I'm off to Hawaii.

I left Colorado because the company I worked for folded up, so I went to Seattle, and loved it. I should never have left there for LA, but my dumbass decided that I had a better opportunity here, and I did, but I hate it here. So I'm leaving. Doesn't make me so much a free spirit as it does a pragmatist.
