If you connect to your account with Facebook...

You can now disconnect that link in your Setting page, "Edit Connections" area will appear if you are connected. In there you can disconnect the link between your facebook account and the forum.

Works for me. It has brought some users to the board, however they remain inactive. I'm hoping at some point some will post more often.
