I am now a Staff Sergeant, and just got my new stripes punched on this morning.

I actually considered how the SSgt abbreviation would look to outsiders. At least it isn't SS Sgt. :cof1:

Yep, big bruises.

I blurted out the "proud to be the AF's latest staff infection" line to the whole ops floor, and most people laughed. One guy congradulated me for memorizing the Airman's Creed and presenting it well. He said "that was the best rendition of it I've ever hear around here, so it makes up for your stupid joke." Actually, a lot of people congradulated me for that.

My sholders are still massively bruised. And a few people will want to take their shots at me when I come in for more training days tomorrow and the remainder of the week.
