This is the newest place I've been in a long time. I look forward to engaging discussions a cut above the norm. Please don't let me down. I haven't read a single thread here yet, so I have no conception of the general tone. I will endeavor to operate within the bounds of my gentleman's training. If it doesn't suffice, I will not blame my trainers.

Do you believe a one world government would create peace and harmony because there would no longer be countries to fight each other anymore?

Who would think a reorg could create such a fundamental change in human nature?

1) I have a long history of loving the trolls and their hilarity, including having created the FP Troll Hall of Fame, but over the past few years, trolls have become less and less creative, and the truly creative minds have gone silent. The latest batch to have cropped up are an embarrassment to the trade.

2) I'm not a gamer, either. Its the closest we ever get around here, and its been as much goofing off as it has been gaming.

3) Alaskan Amber is my beer of choice. I do try to mix it up a little, so right now the beer in my fridge is Killians.

I don't have much experience with them. Basically, I love my ambers and reds, and I also appreciate white ales. Not a big fan of stouts or anything hoppy (I like the Sam Adams Winter Lager, but not the standard Boston Lager for this reason). I absolutely loathe IPAs, and generally hate piss-water beers such as Pabst and BL.

Among the single malt drinkers, there are those that actually like Lagavulin. I do not. That's why we have chocolate and vanilla.

You'll do just fine, don't let the pinheads bother you, they don't know how to act because their parents never disciplined.

I am from Dixie, and I am aware it's God's Country! My name is not Dixie, I am a male and most people named Dixie are female, although the University of Alabama had a famous running back in the early 1900s named "Dixie Howell." I am a huge Crimson Tide fan, and I once owned a web domain for Alabama Football, called "Dixie's Football Pride" This is where I began using the moniker Dixie... later, I discovered that the name seems to bring out the hidden prejudice and bigotry in some, who have an ignorant understanding of what the Civil War was about. I had two relatives who fought and died under the Confederate flag, and I fly it in my avatar in their honor. To me and my family, that flag has never represented anything other than our homeland and what our forefathers gave their lives for.... and that WASN'T slavery.

Grits? I have them about once a week.
Possum? Never ate a possum... closest I came was Squirrel.
Roadkill? Does it count if you hit a deer and put it in the freezer?
Poke Salad? Haven't had it in a while, pretty good with some eggs, but I can live without it.

Biscuits mean something different in the UK, it comes from the French and means twice cooked, what you call a biscuit is called a scone over here. Okra is a staple of Indian cuisine typically in the form of Bhindi Baaji, which is usually a starter in Indian restaurants.

Well, down here we call them "catheads" for some reason. I think it comes from the size... they are as big as a cat's head. I've had UK biscuits... made by Cadbury... (the people who make the chocolate Easter eggs with gooey filling here) They were good, but I would classify them as "cookies" instead of biscuits. I've not had your "scones" but I already know they aren't as good as my mom's catheads! Nothing on the planet comes close!

Okra is a little funky... I don't like boiled okra, it's one of the slimiest most disgusting green things you could ever put in your mouth. I enjoy a good pickled okra, if you ever have the chance to try it... but by all means, my favorite is southern homemade fried okra. Growing/picking okra is not much fun, it is very... itchy... reminds you of handling fiberglass or something...
