The government has denied caving in to pressure after scrapping proposals to make new faith schools in England take children from other religions.
Under the plans, they would have had to reserve up to 25% of places for pupils from outside their faith.

But Education Secretary Alan Johnson said he had now reached a "voluntary agreement" with churches on quotas making legislation unnecessary.

Tory Lord Baker branded it the "fastest U-turn in British political history".

This is a sad day for Britain. Now we will have segregated education where children will learn the 'truth' according to their religion, without contact to children of other persuasions. Only the CoE and Catholics have agreed to voluntary entry of other children, at their descretion.

This isolation means that children will be taught to believe their respective religious tosh as absolute truth and won't have any challenging voices to encourage them to think independently about what they are being taught.

Restricting the child's ability for free thought is child abuse.
