N.Y. Times publisher implores Trump to stop calling journalists 'enemy of the people'

The only enemy of the people is Trump!

Journalism is dead. Independent journalism has been replaced by media outlets that at their best prefer to tell you what to think instead of delivering the pure facts and letting you come to your own conclusions. And more often than not, end up devolving into an endless 24/7 running commentary of mind-numbing bullshit designed to give you the illusion of being informed whilst keeping you painfully ignorant of what is really going on. For just one example: MSNBC ran, no shit, four hundred and forty five Stormy Daniels segments this year, and precisely zero segments on U.S military actions in Yemen. Trump is only wrong in saying that "the liberal media" is the problem rather than our media as a whole. Fox News, The Blaze, and other conservative outlets conveniently left out of criticisms against mainstream media are just as guilty of this. Think about the "war on christmas" segments peddled by Fox News every year like clockwork. Or during the Obama years when Obama saluting with something in hand was worthy of two weeks constant media coverage. Putting pressure on journalists to be, well, actual fucking journalists, is not unpatriotic or authoritarian or dictatorial, but arguably patriotism of the highest form. We cannot possibly move forward as a country and make this a better place to live when voters are being force-fed this complete dribble we call "news" every morning.

:Golfclap

450 Stormy segments is all you need to know about that particular outlet. I purposely avoided the whole Stormy ‘issue’ because it’s a distraction and I refuse to be sucked into it.

The media is a product of capitalism. Stories about Stormy get ratings; it's not partisanship.

Monica absolutely dominated the news cycle in the '90's, for months. There was really no difference in how that story was covered. I doubt many on the right were decrying the "slant" or sensationalism then.

If Stormy was offering her services in the Oval Office it would make a slight difference.

Just a slight difference.

LOL

And "hush money to a porn star" is also a quantifiable difference.

Can you just admit that both are pretty scandalous, Darth? Really, you'd have more credibility if you didn't try to defend Trump on every single thing.

Trump paid hush money to a porn star. you find that scandalous? did he do it as POTUS?
does it effect his presidency? It's barely newsworthy

And I don't personally find it scandalous. I didn't care about Monica (except that I thought a lot less of Clinton as a person), and I don't care about Stormy.

But I'm not an idiot. I see why it sells papers.

in that limited sense I do agree it's "scandalous"

You have my apathy for what Trump did, years ago, well before he was President Trump, confused with ‘defense of Trump’ lol.

I just don’t care about it.

For one, I do not engage in derogatory sexual innuendos of/with other poster's family members. I find it infantile, at best.

And? Your asshattery is expressed in other ways.
As for "Intergalactic Meathammer level," I find science fiction as boring as watching golf.

So, then, as boring as your rather laughably hypocritical posts.

Got it. Thanks for clearing that up.

If he did it to silence her just before the election then in order to affect its outcome, yes, it's a big deal.

Clearly it's nothing you'd understand.
