SCOTUS rules to eliminate EVERY black majority district in deep south

There simply is no question that the reason for that legislation was to combat the racism that saw the Constitutional and Federalists principles of 'one man, one vote' and 'voters should choose their legislators and not legislators choosing voters', was needed, again due to racism being weaponized to reduce and minimize PoC voters.

This Supreme Court does NOT deny the initial need for such legislation was real but they then have to put on blinders and PRETEND not to see the IMMEDIATE result of their Decisions, arguing that America has evolved beyond such racism and thus this legislation is no longer needed. They continue down this path tearing down one protection after another even as we ALL see an immediate return to the types of racist maps that prompted the legislation in the first place.

This SC more than COngress and the POTUS and Executive is responsible for why the US is tearing itself apart now with rulings like this, allowing uncapped Oligarch and corporate money in politics, and the extreme gerrymandering, all of which are turning politics into more of a team sport of fanatical sides compared to what America has strived for since it founding.

And if you want to know why, it is because the Right and the prior Republican party was being put to a choice. A choice a hard core part of the party could not abide.

That choice was in seeing that prior Republican party post Obama was on the verge of entering a majoritarian cycle where it looked like they could be the dominant party again in America for a long time but that was being accomplished by broadening the tent to include the increasing Latino and Black vote, mostly moving to them over religious and security beliefs.

That meant embracing the Republican party as it moved to majority minority and the talk was someone like Tim Scott or a Women pushed forth as the Republican Potus candidate could win, drawing in moderates and even some right Dems.

That idea was intolerable to the most racist part of the party and instead they set in motion, via Trump, the Southern Strategy, which racist republicans had wanted tried for decades but which the party ALWAYS SAID, was a scorched earth strategy that if it failed would tear America apart and was seen as too dangerous to play with.

So that is why this SC is ruling as they do as they are all in on ensuring America does not become majority minority ruled and they need to allow for these extreme practices to counter that.
