The adjectives were not necessary Wacko. I know you married a Texan but obviously you haven't learned Southern yet. In Southern "Bless his/her heart" in English means "Wow...what an idiot.".

I have never understand why Peter Jackson excised all references to Tom Bombadil from the LOTR films. Considering that he was such a pivotal character in the books it really doesn't make a lot of sense.

People find him boring. You have to contend with the attention span of the audience in the early 21st Century. Interestingly, Harry Potter released at the same time as The Fellowship, and Dumbledore mentioned how a hypothetical man could stand before the Mirror of Erised, and see reality, much like Tom Bambadil wearing the ring of power.
