Democrats Falsely Claim Jesus was a Socialist

Jesus and his disciples practiced communality and during his years of preaching they counted on the kindness of others for their room and board.

Yeah? And? That's what the church does...look after one another so as never to be a burden on society at large or the government.

Any deity that claims man has free will would not subscribe to socialism as it ultimately is the enemy of free will.

being charitable, and preaching for others to do the same is a hell of a long way away from giving a monopoly power to make your decision for you

So... you're okay with the American govt. which takes your tax dollars, and uses them to build WMDs and wage war on others -- who haven't attacked us but maybe they look like they might someday? You're okay with your taxes going for corporate welfare? How about a president that fucks over the farming industry with tariffs, then wants to give the farmers $12B of yours, mine, our tax dollars to buy their silence -- and votes?

Your fear of socialism is, frankly, ridiculous. What you should be fearing is the present system.

Yeah? And? That's what the church does...look after one another so as never to be a burden on society at large or the government.
Yeah and nothing, just making a statement of fact that a lot of people who are Christians don’t realize. There are very few churches that take care of their members the way you describe. There may be some small community churches that do so, but there are quite a few churches that may help for a very short term, but they refer you to government social services. I did my share of this type of service for the Archdiocese of Anchorage.

You drive on public roads to get to church, your church received fire and police protection from taxpayers, your water, sewage disposal, and garbage collection are tax payer funded, your food is subsidized by agricultural subsidies, and I have zero doubt that many people in churches use Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Simply put, your church and its members are completely and utterly dependent on the public commons we all pay for through taxes.

Unfortunately this whole discussion is a bunch of hooey, because what the right considers socialist isn't even apt. I was told Jesus isn't socialist because he's into free will. It's amazing how irrelevant that thought is. Socialist ideals, are still ideals even if they are only suggestions. It's government that does the forcing, when an agreed way of living is decided in a nation. So because a Socialist government requires you take part in those things, it suddenly means the values don't fit Jesus, because he doesn't require you to do it. That was the whole argument. So by that argument, I guess the Catholic Church, isn't Catholic, because they don't make people follow Catholic guidelines.

There have been problems of false teachers, false doctrine and churches that haven't conducted themselves according to the original instructions given to the Apostles. They'll have a lot to answer for.

In Revelation (chapters 2 and 3), these letters sent to the 7 churches represent a variety of churches out there today of all different denominations. Smyrna's and Philadelphia's examples of Christ's church received approval...the other 5 examples were (and today are) on thin ice.

The Letters to the Seven Churches
The Letter to Ephesus

2 “Write to the angel[a] of the church in Ephesus:

“The One who holds the seven stars in His right hand and who walks among the seven gold lampstands says: 2 I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil. You have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars. 3 You also possess endurance and have tolerated many things because of My name and have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first. 5 Remember then how far you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. 6 Yet you do have this: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

7 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will give the victor the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in[c] God’s paradise.
The Letter to Smyrna

8 “Write to the angel of the church in Smyrna:

“The First and the Last, the One who was dead and came to life, says: 9 I know your[d] affliction and poverty, yet you are rich. I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have affliction for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown[e] of life.

11 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. The victor will never be harmed by the second death.
The Letter to Pergamum

12 “Write to the angel of the church in Pergamum:

“The One who has the sharp, double-edged sword says: 13 I know[f] where you live—where Satan’s throne is! And you are holding on to My name and did not deny your faith in Me,[g] even in the days of Antipas, My faithful witness who was killed among you, where Satan lives. 14 But I have a few things against you. You have some there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to place a stumbling block[h] in front of the Israelites: to eat meat sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality. 15 In the same way, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.[j] 16 Therefore repent! Otherwise, I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

17 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will give the victor some of the hidden manna.[k] I will also give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name is inscribed that no one knows except the one who receives it.
The Letter to Thyatira

18 “Write to the angel of the church in Thyatira:

“The Son of God, the One whose eyes are like a fiery flame and whose feet are like fine bronze,[l] says: 19 I know your works—your love, faithfulness,[m] service, and endurance. Your last works are greater than the first. 20 But I have this against you: You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives My slaves to commit sexual immorality[n] and to eat meat sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to repent of her sexual immorality.[o] 22 Look! I will throw her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her[p] practices. 23 I will kill her children with the plague.[q] Then all the churches will know that I am the One who examines minds[r] and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works. 24 I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who haven’t known the deep things of Satan—as they say—I do not put any other burden on you. 25 But hold on to what you have until I come. 26 The one who is victorious and keeps My works to the end: I will give him authority over the nations—

27
and he will shepherd[t] them with an iron scepter;
he will shatter them like pottery

just as I have received this from My Father. 28 I will also give him the morning star.

29 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

The Letter to Sardis

3 “Write to the angel of the church in Sardis:

“The One who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says: I know your works; you have a reputation[a] for being alive, but you are dead. 2 Be alert and strengthen what remains, which is about to die, for I have not found your works complete before My God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; keep it, and repent. But if you are not alert, I will come[c] like a thief, and you have no idea at what hour I will come against you.[d] 4 But you have a few people[e] in Sardis who have not defiled[f] their clothes, and they will walk with Me in white, because they are worthy. 5 In the same way, the victor will be dressed in white clothes, and I will never erase his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels.

6 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
The Letter to Philadelphia

7 “Write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia:

“The Holy One, the True One, the One who has the key of David, who opens and no one will close, and closes and no one opens says: 8 I know your works. Because you have limited strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name, look, I have placed before you an open door that no one is able to close. 9 Take note! I will make those from the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews and are not, but are lying—note this—I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and they will know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to endure,[g] I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is going to come over the whole world to test those who live on the earth. 11 I am coming quickly. Hold on to what you have, so that no one takes your crown. 12 The victor: I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God—the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God—and My new name.

13 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
The Letter to Laodicea

14 “Write to the angel of the church in Laodicea:

“The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Originator[h] of God’s creation says: 15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,’ and you don’t know that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked, 18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire so that you may be rich, white clothes so that you may be dressed and your shameful nakedness not be exposed, and ointment to spread on your eyes so that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. So be committed[j] and repent. 20 Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me. 21 The victor: I will give him the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I also won the victory and sat down with My Father on His throne.

22 “Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”

The thing of it is, our present system allows you to live commune style if you believe that it is the best system without forcing others to live that way. Whether you believe that socialism is a religious experience or just think it is awesomeness incarnate there is a way to live that way within these United States. Since you would not be making wages while living in your commune it is likely you could even stop paying taxes for those immoral WMD, etc. if you feel it is wrong. I'm relatively sure that there are some doctors who believe in it enough to join the commune, teachers certainly, probably somebody from every walk of life exists out there who believes that socialism is the way, the meaning, the life... it can't be out of reach for you any more than it is for survivalists groups and libertarian militias. The system already exists that will allow you to live that way without trying to convert me. If you are afraid of the current system, then do something about it without forcing me to live your dream or trying to convince me that I should do it because you think the Sky Daddy wants us to.

On the plus side, churches tend to operate more effectively than the Maduro regime in Venezuela.

Cool story, imbecile.

Giving anything you need if you only ask, not asking for a return. He tilt's beyond socialist, and is a saint that doesn't care about your sins if you come to him for help. He is so unlike Conservatives who deny people because they are gay. Jesus went around and helped lift up even those that were shunned. Most of American idealism, and Capitalism insult his ideals, but that object driven national pride over people is a joke. You are not a follower of Christ, but astray on your own path.

He asked a lot in return per the Bible and damned be those who cross him. Sounds very conservative to me.
