US Political Polarization So Bad The Trump Base Favors Russia's Putin Over Democrats

Diversity Makes Greatness
It is a sad day for America when Americans begin siding with the Russian leader over our own countrymen.

What kind of Americans turn their back on fellow Americans and instead wish they had a leader like Putin?
 
10 years ago, it would have been hard to imagine thoughtful Americans voting for an incoherent, uninformed, pussy-grabbing, arrogant Reality TV entertainer over a competent, experienced technocrat. So, I imagine this is all part and parcel of the same problem - conservatives putting loyalty to party over loyalty to country.
 
Trump tapped into the large insecure underbelly of America. The haters and bigots were happy to find a guy who talked and believed like them

. Americans are feeling insecure. They don't see the way ahead as promising. The wealthy are turning the peoples lives into ones of fear for the future. We have bad expensive healthcare. We get terrible interest rates from banks and pay a ton on credit cards. Both interest and fees are bleeding us.

Most see the two parties as essentially identical. They figured Trump at least was different. They did not know he was different bad. His followers were willing to go wherever he took them, and they are still on board. they will learn, but will probably blame the dems.

That's what scapegoats like "illegals" are for, so that the system and the power structure never has to be accountable to the people. They can just slough all that backlash off onto an already marginalized outgroup, and the anxious and delusional haters and bigots can vent their frustrations there.

That's the problem with heavy political polarization.

Republicans have grown their hatred for Democrats to such a level that they are sympathetic to Putin/Russia.

I never would have imagined the party of McCarthyism would end up this pathetic.
