This kind of crap makes me laugh. Are people THAT scared of those homosexuals that they think they will CATCH the 'disease' or something?

Who gives a shit if two students of the same sex attend the prom together?

The students failed. I can see older generations being stuck in the ignorant ways of their past, but these students should have stood up to the outdated and insane practices of the intolerant administration.

That is an understatement. Looking at the comments below that article makes me even more incredulous. Many of the comments are directed at the two girls saying it is 'their fault' the prom got canceled. Which is so clearly not the case. The prom got canceled because the school KNEW they would lose the case in court as their policy is a clear violation of the girls Constitutional rights.

So rather than fight a losing battle in court or change their policy, they decided to punish the entire student body by canceling the prom. If the students are looking to place the blame... it should be on the school.

I didn't read the comments at the bottom until you said something.

Ignorance is rampant in this country. But its even worse when the same people who scream about the gov't interferring in their lives will now beg to have the gov't interfere in someone else's life.

It does seem that they appear to be using the tatic of sticking their fingers in their ears and going LALALALALALALA, so they don't have to acknowledge hearing anything that they don't like.

No, the school board ruined it for everyone. Allowing two girls to attend the prom together would not have had any effect on anyone else.

The school board decided that they would cancel the prom rather than lose the legal battle. And if the school board couldn't force their narrow minded beliefs on the students, they would punish them all.
