Back in 2008, when Obama was campaigning for president, one of the biggest arguments perpetrated by liberals, was how Obama was going to have a vastly different policy than Bush on Iraq, Afghanistan, warrantless wiretaps, and the war on terror in general. We all heard it! The "unjust BUSH war" in Iraq, it was going to end immediately, and our troops immediately withdrawn! Obama was going to go after OBL! And he was going to restore transparency, stop all the no-bid contracts to conglomerates like Halliburton... at the time, it prompted me to say that I believed Obama would be "Bush 3" in terms of his foreign policy.
The pinheads laughed, made their usual comments about my intellect, reminded us of how often I am wrong in my predictions, posted their little irrelevant "1/3" comments, and refused to accept the point I made, laughing at the sheer absurdity of the comment! They just couldn't believe something so far fetched! Obama promised to be nothing like Bush in the area of foreign policy. One year into the Obama administration, and let's look at where we are... Instead of ending the war in Iraq and immediately bringing home the troops, he sent another 17,000 troops, and continued to advance the arbitrary time-line established by Bush and the Iraqi's in 2008, for our complete withdrawal. He implemented an insurgence in Afghanistan, and the only thing he did differently than Bush would have done, was to give alQaeda a date on the calendar, when we are supposedly coming home. He also gave Gen. McCrystal 75% of what he asked for instead of all of what he said he needed. But both wars continue to rage on under Obama. ....We just don't have Cyndi Shehan camping out at the Obama compound, blubbering on MSNBC daily about her son and this unjust war. When the issue came up about 'coerced interrogation', the Obama administration put the kabash on waterboarding, but re-approved all the other means of coerced interrogation used under Bush, as well as the administration argument of executive power in dealing with enemy combatants. All of this liberal gobbledy-goop we heard during the campaign, was refined down to one "cause", the closing of Gitmo! Now... never mind, that was promised to happen by January of 2010, and didn't... the State Department is now having to completely re-think this thing! The KSM Trial debacle, reads like a script from Reno 911! First we were going to try him at Gitmo with a military tribunal, but since we had to close Gitmo, we decided to bring him to NY, but the people raised hell and didn't want that, and it was going to cost a fortune, so now we need to try him with a military tribunal, somewhere off of US soil... damn, if only we had such a place! Then there is the Patriot Act, you know? ...the complete Bush trampling of our constitutional rights...that measure which allowed Dick Cheney to listen in to your phone calls being made to your pot dealer and use that information to put a chip in your head and have you sent to a religious retreat! This intrusion into our privacy and personal lives was certainly going to stop when Obama became president! Guess what? The Obama Administration renewed the provisions the first opportunity they had, just as Bush would have done, if Bush had a third term....Hmmmmm.

That is true, Obama almost makes you wish Bush could have won a third term!
In fairness, Obama's foreign policy isn't EXACTLY like Bush... He does bow to Saudi royalty... He has put new "rules of engagement" standards in place for our boys in the field of battle, they now have to make sure and Marandize anyone they apprehend, and they can't shoot at people if they don't see a gun or get shot at first. We have to make sure not to violate the Civil Rights of our enemy, because that is just who we are now! THAT's a change from Bush policy... but everything else is pretty similar.
