Default Different Standards for Black and White Preachers

Back to the hot topic of the week:

Bush sycophants use two different standards to judge Christian pastors.

Unsurprisingly, the difference is based on skin tone. White people are more afraid of a racous black preacher.

Different Standards for Black and White Preachers

Rudy Giuliani's priest has been accused in grand jury proceedings of molesting several children and covering up the molestation of others. Giuliani would not disavow him on the campaign trail and still works with him.

Mitt Romney was part of a church that did not view black Americans as equals and actively discriminated against them. He stayed with that church all the way into his early thirties, until they were finally forced to change their policies to come into compliance with civil rights legislation. Romney never disavowed his church back then or now. He said he was proud of the faith of his fathers. Why didn't Willard Romney "walk out" of the church back then? As wingnuts demanded that Barack Hussein Obama do?

Jerry Falwell said America had 9/11 coming because we tolerated gays, feminists and liberals. It was our fault. Our chickens had come home to roost, if you will. John McCain proudly received his support and even spoke at his university's commencement.

Reverend John Hagee has called the Catholic Church the "Great Whore." He has said that the Anti-Christ will rise out of the European Union (of course, the Anti-Christ will also be Jewish). He has said all Muslims are trained to kill and will be part of the devil's army when Armageddon comes (which he hopes is soon). John McCain continues to say he is proud of Reverend Hagee's endorsement.

Reverend Rod Parsley believes America was founded to destroy Islam. Since this is such an outlandish claim, I have to add for the record, that he is not kidding. Reverend Parsley says Islam is an "anti-Christ religion" brought down from a "demon spirit." Of course, we are in a war against all Muslims, including presumably Muslim-Americans. Buts since Parsley believes this is a Christian nation and that it should be run as a theocracy, he is not very concerned what Muslim-Americans think. John McCain says Reverend Rod Parsley is his "spiritual guide."

Well to be conservative means to resist change. and some do not want to change away from past ways, including rascism.

Has anyone in the media, or on message boards solemnly asked about Mitt Romney, why he didn't just "walk out" of his church, back when they thought blacks were sub-human?

I keep waiting for the backlash on this, because the reaction is SO over the top, and the hypocrisy so obvious.

It won't be coming, though. This is still a white country, and Wright is an easy "out" for white America....

Was Mitt a sitting Senator and running for the highest position in the land? As it is he was rejected, largely for membership in that particular church. Interesting...

Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. WEAK

So, someone should walk out merely for political expediency?

It was what he and Pastor Wright discussed. During an interview with Time, Wright spoke of how he and Obama spoke about and planned to distance Obama from him if Obama were to win the nomination.

What does that have to do with Romney? Obama isn't the one holding himself to a higher standard, here.

Your point, once again, was WEAK. You basically admitted that this is FALSE outrage that is being peddled. There is no reason for a "decent" human being to walk out in disgust, unless that "decent" human being is a Senator running for President.

Everything. Political expediency often changes things. However it seems he was rejected for that church. Your example sucks.

I agree that a decent human would reject a religion that teaches racism from the pulpit. I would have.

Unless it's jews, then you go into a state of brainwashed denial.

I wonder why the media and message board posters, never demanded or asked Saint Rudy to disavow his ties, and stop working, with a priest who is under indictment for molesting children? Why Romney didn't "walk out" of his church. Why McCain didn't refuse to speak at Falwell's commencement ceremony.

    LOL

It's because they have white skin. And Pastor Wright has dark skin.

Dumb. I don't go to a Christian church.

I figure if not for fear and laws Rush would rag on blacks just like liberals.
those like him come as close as they can by equating blacks and welfare it would appear.
